A great first week for the OCD Community!

Hey everyone!

A week ago we announced our new community "Original Content Decentralized" and we've had some great growth since then!

Already #2 in subscribers with 1674 posts of 413 unique posters!

Early bird gets the worm! It has of course also helped that we're a big community in general with over 1k unique users in our Discord server

Surprising how many were still not aware of the beta page of Steemit with communities included, if you're still one of them we urge you to check it out: https://beta.steemit.com/communities

Our community will continue to curate original content while incentivizing initiatives that help drive traffic to the Steem front-ends and help the ecosystem.

One being the #posh initiative where we give bigger votes for sharing your original content onto Twitter.

The other being the recent SBDpotato experiment where we give you bigger votes if you send some beneficiary rewards to @sbdpotato to help fix the sbd peg.

Remember to add one of these initiatives when posting in our community. We're still curating the #oc and #posh tag but we've been really excited with the community this past week and over time we will be shifting our focus more and more towards it.

We have a lot of new and fun initiatives and partnerships planned in the near future so stay tuned for that! :)

To give you a hint, one of them is about engagement which is something that Steem desperately needs right now and we think communities and some added gamification to that is the right step towards improving it along with some extra incentives since the new curve has kind of handicapped that aspect a bit.

What are your thoughts on communities so far?

Engagement definitely needs a kick in the ass here at the moment. I find it incredible how many people don't realise how important it is for their experience on Steem.

Fantastic week for the OCD community for sure. 413 unique posters is huge.

Experiencing this Communities beta really solidified my vision of where Steem is headed! Very fortunate to be able to add some value to OCD, while there isn't much competition!

Great initiative @acidyo. The gamification idea is exciting but wouldn't it be impeded by the limiting resource credits system on steem? Just my thought.

Thank you so much @acidyo and OCD community. I just posted to OCD community with #posh initiative and boooom! Booster my post into great rewards!

I hope this community will be a reason to many Steemians keep active and positive on Steem.

I really like the beta version, clean and linear layout. I can't wait to see future upgrades 🤩

Nice,...let me guess ...@abh12345 will be helping with the engagement and gamification??????? I intend on adding some gamification to my community too, but it's not where near as active as your community. Nice work

I think many many of us have felt that communities were crucial to the success of Steem(it). I would rather of seen it sooner, of course, but now is much better than never. I think it will help people not to feel lost and overwhelmed, especially newbies.

So let's keep having fun with these activities.

This is what we need to keep our eyes open, there is still a lot to do. But we're on the right track.

I didn't know about the communities yet until now. Is there a post that explains the #posh hashtag?
