Trip to Reserva Ornitológica #1 - Mindelo | Portugal
Finally, it is already possible to move between municipalities and to challenge a routine that was imposed on us, and in order to unlock the mind of certain paradigms that were unconsciously settling in my mind, i decided with my family to go for a walk there for the sides of Mindelo and take advantage of that coastline to take a walk on the beach and even to get our feet wet.
Before leaving home, i tried to understand through the proper channels for that purpose what the situation would be for those sides regarding the movement and affluence of people thirsting for the outdoors.
According to what i saw, the beaches and the coast were practically empty and were able to cope with some wind currents along the coast that could discourage some fans from walking on Sunday.
Unfortunately we were not the only ones to think like that and when we got there everything was full of people, both on the beach and on the walkways that run along the coast, so I remembered that the Ornithological Reserve was right there and after going through some tight streets we went to a street that connected directly with one of the trails that took us through dirt paths to an area where we could enter a path of the walkway with access to the beach and later on enter the vegetation for the protection of vast green areas full of shadows caused by a whole group of pine forests and other varieties of trees, some with an ancient aspect.
And that is exactly what we did, we parked the car next to some houses even before the dirt road started and we entered there, away from groups and confusions.
We made it all the way to the bridge without crossing anyone, only on the bridge we crossed with some hikers who, like us, took advantage of this day when the sun was out to go for a walk by the sea, always with due care when crossing paths with each other. the others, some people who followed at a slower pace, even stopped to other people and even bicycles following their path in different directions.
Still there, taking advantage of a connection to the sand, we took the opportunity to enter the sand towards the sea and wet our feet there before resuming to re-enter the walkway and later make a right turn again to the middle of the trails that are made through the ornithological reserve.
But the rest of the path will be shared in a future post, where i will also explain a little about what this protected landscape reserve consists of.
Once again I had to turn the lens upside down to register some macros :)
My introductory thoughts about macro photography:
It's amazing how macros with their blurred background can result in such different images full of contrasts and textures especially with this kind of subjects.
In the world of photography, especially macro photography, there is a universe of things available to everyone, enabling totally different and original approaches.
Before moving onto the result...

Here i present the technique used through a short visual tutorial:
Among the various possible techniques to shoot macros, this is perhaps the most affordable and effective technique for those who have a camera with removable lens.
We can simply remove the lens and reverse the direction, and by using an inverter ring it ends up being more comfortable and facilitates the process.
That´s all for today :)
See you soon
