Here Are Photos From The Very First Session I Had With My DSLR Camera!

Hello everyone.

Today I'll be sharing photos from my very first photo session. This goes to show how much I've grown and that I've come a long way. This day was spent with @kodeblaccc and some other friends including the model for the shoot.

I had just gotten my camera some days back and I was only so excited to try it out full-scale after spending time online watching tutorials on how to use it and understanding the exposure triangle. I started out using manual mode right away, but it took me some time to get used to it. Now I'm so used to my camera that I could change most settings without even looking. @kodeblaccc came along with his own camera which he has gotten not so long ago as well, alongside his lighting equipment and a reflector.
We took several shots that day, but I'll share the ones I picked out and edited. Here are the photos:

This photo was just a basic shot where the model sat down. There were little to no thought processes in most of the photos we shot as we were just exploring capabilities. A reflector was held up to bounce the light from the very hot sun. While I edited this photo, I got hooked on the capabilities of the HSL sliders on Lightroom and went crazy with them. Just like almost everyone out there, this seemingly "orange and teal" colourgrade was what I settled with.

In this photo, we got the model to stand in front of a plant nearby. I liked the green but my lens wasn't able to get the depth of feel I envisioned. I tried to get some leaves in the foreground to compliment the photo as well. Also, this was more or less the first photo I ever did skin retouching on. As you can see it was no where near professional and it took me several hours to even get it to this point. I wasn't able to brighten the model's eyes either.

Now, here are the unedited versions of the photos above:

We also managed to get some behind the scenes shots whilst we enjoyed our creative process. We spent hours outdoors and we had fun while at it. Here are some photos:

Here's a photo of @kodeblaccc in his element and about to steal a shot.

Here's a random photo of me!

These photos were from 2 years ago and it's funny how it feels just like yesterday. I think I should probably try re-editing some of my first photos to see what I can achieve from them.

Thanks for coming around, hope to see you again!

Really nice photos. When you edit them do you use system app or they can be easy done on phone.

They can be easily done on a smartphone. But these ones were done on my laptop.

Thank you!
