I Created Some Colourful Portraits In The Sun!

avatar

Hello everyone!

Today's post presents photos from an old session I had some months ago. On this day, my friend @kodeblaccc was around and we created some awesome photos together. I'm sharing the photos I took from the session, @kodeblaccc took some as and I'm sure he has made a post about his own photos (he had better shots 😁)

We used a park as our location because it was big and had quite a number of elements that could be utilized asides the abundant green.
My friend Ada was the model of the day once again, she was very cool to work with and was very instrumental to the creation of the awesome photos we achieved that day. She wore a simple big purple T-shirt and a pair of black leggings for the shoot. It wasn't something serious to be frank, we just wanted to connect and create something.

The first photo I'll be sharing was taken just in front of a tall flower. It's called an Alamanda flower if I'm not mistaken and it had bright yellow flowers generously placed around the plant. I directed the model to stand a few feet in front of the plant so I could get a good depth of field and be able to properly isolate the subject from the background. @kodeblaccc helped me hold up a reflector to get some light on the model and fill in shadows. She struck good poses and I clicked the shutter right away.

Afterwards, we took a break and hd random discussions. In the middle of all that, I picked up the camera and pointed it at Ada who was already up trying out different poses. Just as soon as she struck a pose, I captured. That is how the photo below came about. The photo was very under exposed originally, I made sure to fix thatwhilst editing.

For the photo below, I told the model to stand just in front of some big trees that were a good distance away from us. I wanted to get it in the frame to compliment the photo. To achieve that, I had to get down on the ground to get the shot from a relatively low angle.

Soon after, we ended the session, packed up and headed home. I picked out the best shots and edited them on the Adobe Lightroom Mobile app on my smartphone.

From the first photo you could see how I darkened the greens and yellows from the flowers. I equally retained her skin tone, changed the hue of the shirt to blue and boosted the highlights from the sun in her hair.

The second photo was tweaked to favour dark Moody tones. Her skin tone was darkened a bit, blues were brightened and her shirt was left purple here.

The third photo had the hue of the greens changed to the yellow side as well as the blues saturated a bit. The temperature on this photo is a bit warmer than the rest.

It was indeed a memorable day and I'm glad with what we achieved.
Let me know what you think of these photos, comments would really be appreciated.

Thanks for coming around, hope to see you again!
