Happy 73 Reputation Day!!! ~ Not Quite A Goal, But Feeling Accomplished Anyhow

Goals are cool.png

Goals, Goals, Goals ..

Goals ARE Cool (Pepper does a much better job expressing it than I).

When it comes to setting goals, there are two different types of people in the world, those who set them in those who don’t. Ouch - I guess that’s what I tell myself on the weekend anyhow. Hehe.

Warning - Random Photo's plopped in for interest ;-)

Maybe I’m being a bit obtuse .. when I view it that way, but what do I know. So I’m one of those people who like to set goals. If your not, that's okay, goal setting isn't for everyone. Most of the goals I set are financially-based. Those for some reason or easier for me do logically measure. Other personal goals may be ones that I never really write down but I keep in the back recesses of my mind.

Come the weekend, I spend most of my morning working on setting goals .. adjusting my goals, and measuring those goals. I’m not going to throw a lot in here about my processes when it comes to goalsetting, but just know I consume a lot of coffee on a Saturday and a Sunday while I maul over what my next move will be. I have the time to "Think" on the weekend, so that's when these things get done.

Goals are like a spiderweb.. I suppose those goals are like a spiderweb, filtering down and out into everything I do. Decisions I make in order to support and grow those goals, will have an effect on other parts of my life. Just like a fly trapped in a spiderweb, every little movement sends vibrations to other parts of my web of goals (through my life). There is an element of care to be taken, but that's not the case with all my goals.

Today, for the purposes of this post, I am talking about Hive.

A Hive State of Mind.png

So what goal did I reach today?

I didn’t. No goal reaching happened today, other than contributing a post to the chain. No goal reached yet at least. I’ve been watching my HP grow daily, and I am nearing my goal of 40,000 HP. I am roughly 43 HP shy of it. I would tell you where I was a year ago today, except I cannot find my Excel spreadsheet that I have been filling out month by month for a couple of years now. I did recently get a new laptop, but I don’t think that’s the problem. There was a server glitch three weeks ago and I think I lost several documents in the process. I have to wait and see if myself or our IT guy can get them back. Oh well, easy come easy go. It just sucks that I do not remember where I was a year ago today.

If anyone is aware of any program, like hive stats, that give you more information than 30 days, I would appreciate the info.

I set that goal pretty high .. and it looks like I may reach it in about a week. Maybe sooner. That’s pretty exciting and even though it’s not quite as much as several people here on the block chain, it’s more than others and something that I am proud of and grateful for. It’s an investment I made for myself, the blockchain, and my hive family. It was nice when the HP reached a certain point where I felt comfortable loaning some out as well as helping others get a start and a footing here on the blockchain.

Something else happened today ..

I didn’t quite reach a goal, but I experienced an accomplishment .. I guess you could say it’s not good to accomplish this something. My reputation turn 73. That’s quite a distance from the original 25 I started with in March 2018. I’ve come along way, gathered lots of friends, and wrote about a lot of things. Surprisingly I don’t regret any of it.

Every time my fingers touch the keyboard and I begin writing .. there’s a sense of vulnerability that comes over me. How am I gonna let the world in today? What part of my world do I want them to be a part of, to show them? I tend to stick to what I’m comfortable with, but I occasionally adventure outside of my box. That’s one of the main reasons I started writing here in the first place. I wanted to step outside of my box, my comfort zone, and improve my writing skills along with opening my mind to new ideas in the world. I think I succeeded in that and my reputation score shows it.

For the average Hiver, it takes a long time to build up your reputation .. and it gets harder as your score gets higher. I don’t like setting reputation goals, it just doesn’t feel right to me. So, when my reputation changes I threw myself a little celebration inside my head. It’s a less of a popularity number and more of a distinction that I’ve reached so many people with my stories, and they reached back letting me know they enjoyed them.

So thank you to everyone who’s made it possible for me to feel like I’m a part of something great, a part of something cutting edge… A part of a new future. A Decentralized Crypto World.

@tarazkp authored a post called The Right Time - At The Right Hive. Check it out.. he gets the point across much better than I ever could. It's sort of inspirational and it may even help to give you some direction if you are lost to what Hive means for you and possible where you think you should be.

We are ALL well on our way to great things, And I am happy to be a long for the ride!

Happy 73 Reputation Day To Me, And THANK YOU to ALL of You Who Helped To Make It Possible!

Don't forget to set some goals for yourself.. and start your own journey to reaching them.

If I can ever be of help to you in reaching your goals, let me know. I will always help when and how I can :-)

Hope you enjoyed the random photos, all taken by yours truly

I can't add in a vote the 43 you need, but I will see if I can get you closer on this post to your 40k :)

While rep system is broken and useless for its purpose, I see value in it personally as to how I am progressing myself.

Every time my fingers touch the keyboard and I begin writing .. there’s a sense of vulnerability that comes over me. How am I gonna let the world in today? What part of my world do I want them to be a part of, to show them?

This is a great way to express it!
I feel the same and sometimes, I click post whilst in fear that I shouldn't show so much of myself - but, I do it anyway. Screw it. :D

I suppose you only live once. I figure if there’s anything to know about me it’s probably out there already, so I don’t bother hiding. LOL I never was one of those shadowy mysterious types of people anyhow. Even when I want to go back I just let my emotions out on my sleeve. Obviously not in a rude way but more and a this is who I am kind of way.

Thanks for the support! I am grateful to have so much great support, but it wasn’t always that way. I try to encourage the newbies to put themselves out there and communicate, not just produce posts. I think the best way to gain traction is to get noticed. To get noticed you have to open your mouth, and you have to be truthful to yourself.

You’re right about the reputation. That’s why I don’t make it any kind of a goal. I just like watching it, although it is quite annoying that it’s always right there in my face. Moving at a snails pace. Even slower for you now that you’re closer to the top of the heap! LOL

Thanks again for stopping bye, I appreciate the vote towards my goal 😎

Congrats on the Rep level up. It will be some time yet before I reach the next level, but it will be fun when I do. Glad also to see your HP goal getting close, I hope by the end of the year I will reach mine of 10,000 HP. It is going to be close, with the rise in price the amount of hive rewards are not as much, but still it is a goal.

I need to get back into commenting a bit more again, I have been somewhat negligent in that area lately.

Commenting really does take a lot of time, although when I do do it I feel better about the whole system. I do a lot of reading and sometimes I don't have time to comment. I try to remember to go back and comment on some thing I saw. Oh well. No worries. Glad to hear you're doing well and you're getting ready to reach a goal of yours. I know you will be able to do that! Got plenty of the year left to go. 69 to 70 does take a while for some reason. I think it might be mental because obviously it's faster than going from 70 to 71, I just felt like it took longer because I wanted to see that 69 even out. He he

It was back in June when I hit 69.004, so just under a 0.1 a month growth, of course that could be improved if I just got it together and made a few more post. The reputation number is just a bonus goal, but it is nice when they happen.

Wow, 73 is no small accomplishment! You should be really proud about that. It gets so hard to earn rep once you get up over 70. Plus now you can't just buy it via vote bots, so it actually has a bit more merit. Congrats to you on that!

True. Thank you for the encouragement. I did finally surpass 40,000 HP the other day, but didn't see it due to being busy all weekend. An early accomplishment. I wasn't expecting it until end of year. I guess I'll just have to raise my goal line. lol

Congrats and well done. 73 sounds like the moon to me. Getting past 63 took forever lol and now 64 is moving ever so slowly. So i know this is an achievement.
Pepper does look cool in those shades.

How many of your comments did I miss?! wow.. I suck. lol

The higher the number the slower it advances. No worries.. It's just a stupid number and sometimes I wish they would just remove it. But if it's there, I may as well be proud of it. lol

Pepper was always such a good sport when it came to my stunts.

Thank you for all the support! Your the best @sofs-su 😁
