Canada Goose Family
(Edited)
I met this lovely Canada goose family yesterday. Two parents and four chicks!
The female lays from two to nine eggs with an average of five, according to wikipedia.
Hopefully, she laid only four eggs and not 12 eggs.
There are many dangers out there, and usually not all of them will survive.
And you know what? When I was observing them, they swam right towards an osprey nest but fortunately ospreys only eat fish! Thank god!
So, the goose family was safe! :)

Thanks!
Thank you very much! :)
Nice photos!
Thanks for sharing and greetings from Mexico.
Thanks! Have a good weekend!
They are neat aren't they? I love how they find a place to have a nest, don't give a shit whether there is shelter or traffic, and just make it work.
Locally here, they actually have a population control program for them. https://www.stratfordbeaconherald.com/news/local-news/meet-the-geese-police I am divided on it because I understand keeping things cleaner in a tourist downtown but it seems cruel to harass them out of their natural habitat .
So cool how these little hissers swim in front of and behind to protect the little ones.
Yes they are! :)
Yeah, that's a difficult subject. It feels so wrong to harass them out of their natural habitat, but I understand the problem! :/
It is! I think they would do anything to protect their little ones! :)
