My Quarantine Story: Lockdown and Creativity

We spend our lives frantically between work, daily commitments and family. Now that we have a lot of time for us, people don't know what to do at home.

The quarantine here in Italy is now in its third week. At first I was frankly quite confused, I thought that time would never pass ... Then in reality the mind cannot stand still and decides to take action anyway.

I discovered that I am a good housewife and I dedicate at least an hour a day to cleaning the house every day, sharing the tasks with my wife and taking care of a little more energetic chores like washing the floor, vacuuming and hanging clothes after washing in the washing machine! Not bad!

I started taking time back to my guitar. I have been playing since the age of 14, now I am 36. Until about ten years ago I was constantly playing my Ibanez electric guitar, Steve Vai. Now I have started playing my Ibanez acoustic guitar again and I have started practicing with the old exercises and old songs that take me back to my teenage years.

I spend part of the day at work on my laptop. For more than two weeks I have been working from home via smart working and have continued to support customers who are constantly looking for me. Together with other colleagues we work on shift from 09 in the morning until 08 in the evening, from Monday to Saturday. My means of work are hands and headphones!

I have enough time to devote myself to information on news about HIVE and I like to write posts to share here on the platform. When I write I like listening to music because it helps me to concentrate and is an inspiration. In these weeks they manage to publish up to four posts a day and I discover every day more how beautiful what I do and how much I would like to do more and more in the future.

I also rediscovered my passion for drawing and painting. As a child I loved drawing, although I had never been skilled but it always gave me peace of mind. I also tried to make some sketches with the HIVE logo.

In my city there are 10 cases of contagion to date, of which unfortunately 2 people have died. The fear that the virus could infect us has really influenced my way of life and this is reflected in daily actions when I am away from home to shop or for other needs. I look around with suspicion from the people around me, I try to keep my distance and I use a mask and gloves.

I wonder how we will get back to our normal life, as if nothing had happened. Fear and anxiety will accompany us at least in the coming months...

Unfortunately, the situation is serious but in the last few days the trend of daily positives has stabilized. Indeed yesterday it was reduced by half. This means that the quarantine is starting to bear fruit. We hope well

Im glad to hear that. There are concerns that Nigeria may suffer a similar fate to Italy and it has people scared. I hope everything normalises at your end
