Grammarly Lifetime Stats

Since English is not my mother tongue, I always try to improve it either by writing more or by reading or even using some apps like Grammarly (which helps me to avoid typos and grammatical errors if any). I have been using Grammarly from May 5, 2019, i.e. almost a year. In this post, I will go through some of the lifetime stats of Grammarly or most importantly what I have achieved in the last one year of using it.

First let's find out what exactly Grammarly is, Grammarly is a writing tool which helps us to check the common errors which we usually make. The most common checks which it does is Grammer, Spell Check and Punctuation and thus it helps me to improve my grammar to some extent. But the problem is I have the Basic Account and thus the features are limited, there are features like Consistency in your writing, Fluency, Conciseness and others which you can get in the Premium Account. The newest addition is Tone check and which is actually helpful so that it should adhere to the audience for which you are writing for.

Grammarly can be used by anyone, but it's much more useful for non-native English speakers because you get a sense of what is not correct in your writing. Also, it gives a language preference and thus you can choose accordingly.

The good part is Grammarly have a Chrome extension which checks the content in almost every website and thus it makes it a great extension to have.

Grammarly had helped me a lot in finding repetitive words, spell check and also missing comma which I usually forget.

Few more stats of Grammarly, which is just like Gaming badges. I have achieved 12 weeks of activity which means checking every week for 12 weeks. It would have been more but 1 month back I cleared the cache and thus did not login back and my stats were missed.

Last week writing stats. I have checked around 6744 words last week and 121 alerts are shown that means one alert in every 56 words which I need to improve it to 1 alert in every 100 words. Seems like my vocabulary is good, but I don't think so, need to improve that also.

The all-time stats, which means around 320 words every day. That is also a good start, but again I think I need to improve it to around 500 words. Because the more I write, the more I become better at it.

Grammarly seems to be a decent product if you want to have a quick check of your writing, and I would suggest it to be used by everyone even if you are a native English speaker or not. There is no need to have a paid subscription I think because free subscription does its work pretty well.

Are you paying attention to the errors and are you mentally reminded of them the next time you come across the word/sentence you made the error in? A little tip to help you out is to read what you write aloud, in general if it is difficult to say the sentence, you probably made a grammar error.

I have been doing this, read the post aloud before posting.

Apart from improving the grammar, it helps to improve the sentence flow of my posts.

Yep it does. Once at a certain language level, there is a lot one can do to improve unaided.

I do pay attention as much as I can. The problem which I usually face is where to add the comma in a sentence. If it's a simple sentence, I usually don't get any Grammerly alert. Thus I am trying to keep my sentence as meaningful and as small as possible, so that it's little more understandable.

Thanks for the tip, will try it out for sure.

No I am not using paid version, I think it's little expensive for me as I am not a professional writer.

No I don't use paid version, free version seems to be good enough for me to do some basic checks.

Wow! What a great app @codingdefined. It's really needed to me😅. What gets me tougher is to get some words or sentences meaning in English😁. Due to not proper knowledge of English, it make us unable to completely express our thoughts and emotions. But i can surely say that I'm improving my English here on hive by reading the blogs of english native peoples and practising it😅.

That's absolutely true and thus when we read more and write more, we become better at it.

Oo never heard of this app. I desperately wanted something like this to improvise the language. But do we have to pay to start using the app?
