Wasting Time Proving Yourself

One thing as a human we always forget is that we don't have to waste time in proving ourselves to the world every time. Like we don't have to prove that we are hard worker, or we are talented, or even if we are a good person or not.

I think we spend too much time or rather waste too much time in proving ourselves, which actually can be used in some other activity. Most people don't care how much you try to prove yourself. Say for example if you are trying to prove that you are a hard worker by completing a task on time or rather spending more time in office if your manager wants to bring out a flaw, he will eventually and thus even if you try to prove yourself 1000s time, his perception doesn't change.

Do you know why, because people will see you according to their own filters or biases and thus they will evaluate you in a manner they evaluate every one? Even if you are too good, for them you are just like everyone. Also, they will make assumptions about you, your abilities and intentions and thus it's very hard to break someone's assumptions even if we try it 1000 times.

We always say that the first impression is the last impression, this is true for most of the cases. If your first impression is average then it will be average throughout in front of that person and it will not change at any cost.

This is the case with all of us, we try to prove yourself in front of everyone we meet, we try to prove good in school, college, or even in the job and thus we always worry about what other will think about us. And with this, we always try to change ourself for the people and thus with this we lose our own self.

Instead what should be done is, don't prove anything to anyone and thus you have to be better from tomorrow and thus which means you have to prove yourself every single day. The problem is that then you will do what other people think and not you end up not doing what actually valuable for you. This is where the motivation can come into the picture, and thus whatever you do is the genuine show of what you actually are. This is very much needed if you want to succeed because if you do something against your inner strength it will backfire and in some time you will lose your own self too.

I think we all waste a lot of time to change ourselves to prove to someone instead we should try to use that energy to make ourself better in every possible way and that will actually the best way to prove yourself because you are proving youself and not others.

This looks like a "community topic" at the moment, as I saw a couple of posts about it... :) It's interesting that here on Hive that happens a lot of times... :)

Totally agree with you about "proving yourself"... We don't have to prove anything to others, we just have to do to ourselves... Change, evolve, and be a better person!

Thanks for sharing your thoughts about it!

I didn't knew it was community topic or not, it's just that I feel sharing it with all because sometimes we all forget that it's better to live life for your own.

Actually, it wasn't a community topic... I mean, nobody called it out... It was just a lot of people "accidentally" talking about the same stuff... :) That amazed me more than once... :)

You make a good point about this. I learned a long time ago that the only person you need to prove anything to is yourself.

Yes that's correct, you are the one responsible for your activities and you are answerable to yourself and not anyone else
