I started photography few years ago and i still recall how crappy my art was then. Funny enough, i was really proud about my art then, how ridiculous. Years pass and i felt i had to up my game so i applied some techniques which i will be sharing today.

1. GET A MENTOR.
Your mentor could be someone you can meet physically or a creative whose work you admire and which to be like. When i started, i had no mentor but as i started figuring out the niche of photography i wanna be shooting, i started stalking a few photographers such as

  • Image faculty (Nigeria)
  • Joey Dutch (Ghana)
  • Phloshop (Ghana)
  • Ani Johnson (Nigeria)
  • Big H (Nigeria)
These people really help me guide my mind towards images i would love to create.

2. Practice Your Craft Often
We all know the popular quotes "practice makes perfect". Don't just practice for practice sake, practice with the aim of getting better. Practice to learn more. This opens your mind to see your errors and mistakes and how you can over come them.

3. Ask Questions

Don't be afraid to reach out to people better than you with questions bothering you. some might turn you down but that doesn't mean you stop asking more people.

4. Go For Classes
Classes have really helped boost my photography by a mile stone. What ever craft you do, going for an upgrade class will go along way to sharpen your knowledge in that craft.

I hope you learned something.
