Judge said the State was testing his patience.We know how he feels as we have all been tested since March.

Living in Africa you soon realise that 1+1 = something else besides 2. Not many thing make sense and there is an angle on every decision that is made. I must admit it took a while to see the games, but it has become boring now as the people in charge are just too simple.

Today we have had court coverage on the television with the State trying to defend the advertising ban fighting proper lawyers from the tobacco industry. I kind of feel sorry for the state lawyer as his case is kind of week and non existent with the judge calling for factual evidence and none is forth coming. When asked to sum up his case he started to read some documents and was told that is not summing up but re quoting. There must be nothing worse than fighting a losing battle knowing you don't have the required information needed.

Reading his summing up didn't go down very well. He is seriously struggling to prove the rational reasoning for the ban.

The court adjourned possibly for a smoke break with an announcement expected soon. Nothing makes sense except that stalling it someone is benefiting from the illicit black market trade. The government is losing 10's of millions every day in lost tax revenue. I believe the illicit trade has gained such a footing now that this will continue harming the governments revenue when it is overturned. People are simple and once something has become normal then it is difficult to change back.

We all know why the ban is in place and has been common knowledge for months. A Zuma in the middle again and why there is a ban as he is making millions every day this continues. They tried to have the hearing postponed till next week to gather more evidence but that wasn't the case. I don't blame them as one extra week could see him make an extra few Million. I would love to know how much he has made from the illicit trade over the past few months.

To turn around and say that cigarettes have not been on sale is a complete lie and a smoker will always find a new source. They may not be happy with the price, but they will still pay. I know someone that had two garages full of black market goodies including high end spirits and wines. He must have made a good half a million over the last few months.
