Home Sweet Home

This may sound crazy but your home should be where your heart is and somewhere where you feel safe. Things changed drastically two days ago making the home not exactly a peaceful fun loving abode. Having two members of the family living under your roof who tested positive for Corona is not exactly fun. What chances do the rest of us have from not catching it if we haven't had it already or have we now got it? It is not like we all had warnings and had been totally on precaution mode around the house prior to the test results. The tests we had two weeks ago were negative so it lured us into a false security.

Last night things did change quite a bit with fevers of 39 degrees, vomiting and some difficulty breathing.I am hoping that this is the peak and this is the hump that needs to be crossed before things improve. I am not sure how long this stage lasts but am praying today or tonight it is over.

The crazy thing is none of us really know how good or bad this thing is as there has been so many mixed reports. I am hoping like we all are in the house that this thing is over rated and has been seriously exaggerated. Nothing like being a Guinea pig and seeing this first hand play out with family members.

I must admit my concerns have been raised with the breathing issues. I have been washing my hands every time I touch something out of my bubble and wearing a mask inside certain areas of the house. My grandson is struggling with the mask ,but loves washing his hands and carries his own bottle of sanitizer around. That is quite cute but how screwed up is that as no way normal.

The only medicines they have been given is some cortisone to help with the breathing which should help protect the lungs. They have been asked to join the plasma donation once they are over the 28 day period and all clear. Apparently the 14 day is not the end of it and it is safe after 28 days.

We have been trying to work out what day they are now on and we reckon it is day 7 today. It takes 3 or 4 days to become active in your system and the test day was Monday with the results back at 6.30 am in the morning. This time it was much quicker as the laboratories are only testing for covid now and nothing else which I found a little worrying.

My son-in-law was tested on Tuesday and he still doesn't know as yet so I guess he is negative for now. The last thing I need is another positive in the house as it is one less set of hands to help out. If that happens it will just be that much harder for the three of us that remain to dodge this shit.

The concern right now is to get through this the best we can and hope everything is a walk in the park. I must admit I have sucked back some disprins to help thin the blood as one side effect is your blood thickens. I had a few clots some years ago and is always a worry at the back of my mind. I survived the thing they call the widow maker and I am not taking any chances.

I just find it weird that you see this stuff playing out around the world and don't expect it in your house. This is not down the street, but in the other room and just too close for comfort. Saying I am concerned is an understatement right now.

I hope you all get well soon and have none of the severe symptoms.

This is all so new so honestly don't know if it is good or bad. No improvements today so that is good I reckon as it didn't get any worse either. Hoping for a good weekend.

Holy heaven, that is not good at all. I hope it won't get worse as hospitals over there are not up to modern standards and even if it were, there's little they can do.
Stay safe!

Private hospitals are fine but you don't go to government hospitals unless you are on a suicide mission. Thanks will do.

Yikes!

Hopefully all the family can battle through, I suspect no amount of hand washing or masks will help with everyone under the same roof.

I agree there is bugger all that you can really do in such close proximity. Trying though but not fun. Changed sleeping patterns to try and avoid lol.

Dang, that sucks. Good luck to all of you and I hope they have a speedy recovery and the virus exhibits less severe in the rest of you should you contract it. Be well!

Thank you. It is still a bit rough I must admit and haven't seen much improvement yet.
