Today @blocktrades enabled Steem/Hive pairing so that we can easily swap our Steem for Hive. I chose to swap all of my liquid Steem for Hive and I will continue to do so weekly until my Steem is finished powering down in nearly 13 weeks.

Sayonara Steem, Hello Hive!

It took about 30 minutes for my BlockTrades transfer to finalize. I traded 1,228 STEEM for 1,075 HIVE. It does not surprise me one bit that HIVE is already valued higher than STEEM.

I also had 1,091 HIVE in liquid form from the airdrop, so I decided to combine that and my recent acquisition from BlockTrades for my biggest power up ever since joining Steem 2.5 years ago. As stated in the beginning of this post, I plan to continue this process weekly. I will be receiving 1,200 STEEM weekly from my power down that I will convert to HIVE using https://blocktrades.us/trade.

SBD & HBD Conversion

I did not want to wait 3.5 days for my 33 SBD to convert into STEEM, so I sold it on Steemit's market quickly so I could buy HIVE with the STEEM I got from selling the SBD immediately before the HIVE/STEEM value gap widened even more.

I did however decide to convert my 33 HBD to HIVE, I will report back in 3.5 days to determine how much more HIVE I received for doing this instead of using BlockTrades to process this action instantly. I am making note of it here, I would have received 130 HIVE for my 33 HBD when using BlockTrades. I am anxious to see how much more HIVE I will get considering HBD is currently at .70 instead of $1. Remember that at the end of the 3.5 days, each SBD will be replaced with approximately $1 USD worth of HIVE tokens.

Do you plan to do the same?

I know some of you are not yet sold on the validity of Hive. If you do decide to take a chance early on like I just did, it may pay off huge later on once everyone realizes that this is the wise move.

I can already see that Steem has been turned into a centralized platform full of censorship thanks to Steemit. That is not what I believe in, although some do not seem to mind being under the control of Steemit.
