Forgiveness is a Virtue

Psychologists generally define forgiveness as a conscious, deliberate decision to release feelings of resentment or vengeance toward a person or group who has harmed you, regardless of whether they actually deserve your forgiveness.

Oftentimes, our friends, partners or colleagues do hurt us and it feels so bad that you feel like they should not have done that to you for any reason on this earth. You feel so bad that you vowed not to talk to them again or even detach yourself from them totally. They come around to apologize after they might have realized that they were being stupid to have done that particular thing that hurt you so bad. But, you insist that you will not forgive them.

It is important to always reconsider our decision especially that of forgiveness. What is unknown to most people is that they hurt themselves more when they refuse to forgive. Apparently, you were hurt by the actions of your friend, partner or colleague but you shoot yourself more in the leg if you refuse to forgive them. You become mentally and socially drained. By this I mean you'd not be able to relate with them when you see them, you frown and get angry unnecessarily. All these will ruin you and tell on your emotional state of mind. It's better to forgive and let them assure you that such will not reoccur and you continue with life.

Learn to forgive 🙏🏾.

Thank you for your time lovelies.
