How I Repaired My Elec Standing Fan

avatar

Hi everyone,

Life itself is a social village full of problems that demands urgent attention. A few day ago precisely on Friday at about 8 pm when i return from church, i had to set to motion the generating set to light up the environment. On getting to my room, i discover the rooms temperature was a bit more humid that what it was before i left for church and off course you know i need fan.

Personally i don't really like place with high temperature so i think i can't live in the Northern part of my country. Sorry i kept you on suspense.

Now when i put on the fan, immediately there was a spark that made the fan stop immediately.

Ohhhhhh No... Just seems i am going to have a heatfilled night and days ahead.

I got back from work quite late yesterday but never forgot to get an adapter for my fan. Ohhh! Sorry i didn't tell you, because of the high voltage of the generating set, the fan energy supply cable head got damage.

Adapter cut off the fan energy source

This is my little Eleco standing Fan that is about 3 fit tall.

I don't think i can afford to sleep another night without my fan again in my oven-like hot room so i made sure i got an adapter for a replacement.

You obviously can't change an old thing without taking off the old one so i began by cutting off the damaged adapter after which i fixed the new one i got while coming back from work.

Here is me trying to change the old adapter with the new one i bought.

The good thing about this new adapter is that it has a fuse inside it on like the previous one. Now, off course you know what the fuse does. That the fuse will regulate the functionality of the adapter and in case of currently fluctuation(if current increases or decrease) it is the fuse that gets damaged and all i would have to do is to change the fuse and insert a new one.

What makes a fuse essential component in any electronic device the metal wire or strip inside the fuse that melts when too much current flows through it, thereby stopping or interrupting the current.

Quickly please i would like to say that this things are not hard things to do that one will not think that they are. I am not a jack of all trade i am just one person that has a fare little knowledge about many things.

You've go to be a bit careful while inserting the wire to the adapter. If you mistake the positive for the negative, you might as well not get what you want so be careful to check that the positive cable that is always coloured red goes to where you have the plus sign written on it and the negative which is usually coloured black goes to where you have the minus sign.

Make sure that you carefully fold the excess of the wire coming out of the adapter. Now what i mean is don't let the red and the black colour be seen on the outside.

Please make sure you check out by tasting it to see if what you did was right.

As you can see my fan began to work again. Guess what! i am gonna enjoy a heat free night sleep ahead..

Thanks for reading through my blog
