My Random Series: Lockdown Day 98 (RMCO Day 14)

A little update on the pumpkin... Uhm... It's turning yellow like this... I don't have a good feeling on this... Feels like it is going to fall off the plant anytime now... 🤨 🤨 🤨

Am I right on this? It is not going to grow into a big pumpkin anymore? It's gonna bid farewell to me soon???

Found this ladybug for the first time. Normally it's another red bug that loves to cling onto the pumpkin leaves...

These are the usual guys... There are many of them...

And can you see the ant in this photo?

Hopefully I will still get one pumpkin from the plant... Not this one maybe but I hope to have at least one...

If ladybugs are around you should be OK. But if you suddenly see any black ants roaming around like a little colony, beware of miliebugs, the white ones, that can easily destroy your plant.

Oh... The ants are not good to the plants... I will be careful on this... What about red ants?

That, I am not sure. But I know when the red is there, the blacks are less.

Our growing season is usually too short for growing pumpkins, so I have only tried to once or twice. But I grow squash successfully, and sometimes some of the small "fruits" do fall off, and I don't know why.

I guess small fruits will fall off so that the "better" ones can grow with more nutrients.

We just made a soup from young pumpkin stems the other day. Not sure what's going wrong, pumpkins usually don't need much care and love bad soil. Hope you can save your pumpkin @elizacheng.
