On this day, few hours from now, one year back I made my first post on Hive and it was fun as @trafalgar curated it. That single act prompted my continuance on the platform for some few years back while I was active on Steemit, my posts were hardly ever curated and this being my first and gaining that much attention, I felt welcomed.

The post was a sketch I titled "A Cool Ape Sketch" as seen above. I did it as an experimental study as I've never before made such. Sketching was something I did when I was a kid and I'd given it up years ago for my Dad who asked me to... it's kind of sad though.

Moving on, few days after, I made my first ever portrait which in my opinion turned out great. I used my softest, darkest pencils, something I had not in any way learn to control and seeing the outcome, I knew I could do something more experimental, venture deep into the artworld.

And that was when I made this πŸ‘† some two day later still in that week, a pencil sketch of "A Werewolf Warrior". It required lots of details which I needed to embed and at various points, I had to improvise.
I got helpful tips from my friend @tezzmax who is infact a practising Artist currently studying visual arts in the University of Lagos.

All my early sketches were posted in the OCD community and sadly at some point, artists were encouraged to move to other sub communities. The idea was genius but it took a while, a long while before I found my footing in other communities.

Months after when I made this sketch, it was shared in the Sketchbook community and by this time, my understanding of improvisation and contrast was already firm.

This is one of my favourite anonymous sketches, the contrast and gradations is what I like most about it.

I should think that this is my favourite sketch and the fact that it is of Marlon Brando is really interesting. The iconic 'Godfather' role is by far the greatest symbol in movie history and this particular impression of it is infact a masterpiece.... I'm not bragging, I'm just saying.....check it out yourself.

This particular impression of 'A Mother's Love' was made for my little Cousin and I was moved by the attention it called and the response it attracted... πŸ‘Œ thanks for that.

It's been an interesting year so far on Hive and there is so much to talk about and so many people to hail but doing such might attract some disinterest so I'll leave it at this. I would also like to make mention of my brother who has of recent become an active blogger on the platform. He also makes amazing works and it'll be cool if you can check them out. Believe me, you won't regret it. Here's his handle @ezuntimmy.
And he is the one to the left in the photo above.

It's been a wonderful year on Hive and posting my artworks and poetry write ups everyday in the past year has in this instant become an habit.

In my journey in the past year, I've learnt that making friends helps a lot on the platform and that experimental sketches open up pathways in your mind that make you feel like an omniscient narrator. Cause I've come to that state of mind where trying new forms is only accompanied by enthusiasm and joy for the unraveling of never before ventured ideas.

You can do well to check my blog and see my numerous sketches, and feel free to comment and which ever one catches your fancy...

Thanks for the love friends, you've made the past year fun and thanks for stopping by...as always, it's been a pleasure hosting you.😁
