Friday in the Forest
Mid day Friday I headed north to go camping. We had a 2 day window of clear weather for Friday and Saturday so the dog and I took advantage.
I drove thru Kettle Falls and stopped to get gas at the 395/20 intersection. It is a Native run gas station and I got gas for $1.94! Lowest price I have paid in years.
On the way up the mountain I stopped at my tree. There is still debris on the ground from my truck and it made me a bit sad seeing it. Fortunately the tree is still standing and my plaque is still on it.
First thing I did when I hit camp was to get a fire going. There is oodles of wood laying around so it only took a few minutes. I got the tent up next and just in time as the afternoon rains came through. It only lasted about an hour before it moved off and we got a sunny evening.
The silence of the forest is always so nice. The sun came out and warmed the air again and made for a nice evening of wandering.
I kept the fire burning nice and hot and Art ended up arriving around 8pm. We hung out and drank around the fire till late.
