Hello friends, I'm back, the new artist who always saturates your feed with pure commissions made for @smanuels, I hope you haven't got tired of seeing that all my posts have the title "Commission #x", but we are in quarantine and the essential and profitable thing is to stay at home and work from there.

This time I introduce you to Argos, he is a very old being, as old as the universe being the first entity to acquire consciousness, he has seen everything and will see much more because he plans to live much longer than you, recording every event in his memory.

Going into a little more detail, he is an elemental with a thin humanoid form, and a translucent body except for his forearms to the end of his fingers and his calves to the tip. Behind him is an alter ego like an avatar of his giant mind similar to a lamp genie. They are observing the landscape on a kind of cliff on a moon with a dark and nocturnal atmosphere from where you can see the stars.

Clothing description:
-Headdress: The humanoid has a face wrapped in a kind of scarf with an ancient appearance, only his gray eyes are visible. The avatar's face cannot be seen because there is a blinding light source where the head should be.
-Torso clothing: the humanoid has a fine fabric coat without much detail and that also looks translucent in combination with most of its body. The Avatar has a bare chest with large pectorals and is grayish skinned.
-Legs clothing: the humanoid has bare feet showing its inhumanity, as it has legs that end in a pointed end.
-Feet dressing: a thin and pointed end as of metal and its color is white marble are touching earth.
-Clothing arms and hands: his arms have translucent bandages but his arms are tangible, with marble white skin color. He is holding a rather refined and showy cane.
Average height and weight: humanoid; 2.5 meters, Avatar; 20 meters

As usual I started sketching the characters based on the description, here the first problem arose, a problem of size relationship, according to the measures, Argos is 2.5 meters and his avatar is 30 meters, a huge difference, but if I drew him this way the character of Argos would be barely visible on the canvas and I could not detail it too much, so I reduced a little the size of his alter ego and position it a little to one side.

Following the instructions of the description, I started coloring the surface of the moon, establishing the rock on which the character is positioned and immediately I was detailing the rocks. I thought of the moon as an arid rock full of cracks and rough rock. I did this with a hard textured rectangular brush, very suitable for painting rocks.

Argos is translucent, so I colored it softly using the airbrush, gently erasing the areas where the color was exceeded, the trick was to first make the background landscape and then just gently delineate the characters and get that gaseous effect, of course this does not apply to the arms and legs, regarding the feet, I had been wrong, in the sketch I drew pointed feet, but then I understood that I had no feet at all, but that pair of spikes on which Argos is standing.

Something important that I didn't point out in the previous step. I modified the position of the alter ego, making it more elongated and upright, I wanted to give a feeling of depth and that its 30 meters were lost in perspective. Surely you are about to ask me "Hadley how did you do that fabulous lighting effect on the face of the alter ego", here is the trick, In Photoshop go to Filter>Render>Lens Flare and voila! you have a fantastic and very attractive lighting effect for your illustrations or photo retouches.
