The beauty of Banda Aceh Baiturrahman Mosque at night

When the earthquake and tsunami struck in late 2004, the Baiturrahman Grand Mosque was one of the few mosques that escaped the brunt of the disaster. The mosque, which was built in 1612 AD, stood firm, while other buildings nearby were in a mess.

Only the courtyard of the great mosque passed by the tsunami waves. This miracle also made many people flee and take refuge in the mosque. There are also thousands of lives that have survived devastating disasters.

Now, more than 10 years after the disaster, the mosque in Banda Aceh still stands strong. Part of the mosque's yard which was destroyed, has now been reorganized. The charm of the pride of the people of Aceh is increasingly beautiful.

Every day there are people who come to visit the mosque. Even at night, the mosque is filled with good people to pray to travelers who just stop by and enjoy the atmosphere at the mosque.

"This is not perfect if you do not stop by Banda Aceh at the Great Mosque. Although the main purpose is not to this mosque, but it looks like we have to stop by here," said a resident of North Aceh, Syahril Fuad when meeting with VIVA.co.id, at mosque, Tuesday March 3 2015.

Baiturrahman Grand Mosque became a religious tourist attraction. Every tourist who comes will be amazed to see its beauty. The mosque, which was built by Sultan Iskandar Muda, is even more charming at night. Garden lights beautify the mosque surrounded by dozens of palm trees.

In addition, in the front yard of the mosque there is also a style of bathing in the style of the Ottoman Empire. The sound of water from the shower pool plus the birds singing in the mosque increasingly spoil the ears of tourists at night.
