Our arrows,
after many adventures
are now blunt,
to best niggling foes.
too shy to hit the bull's eye
we're weary,
of the frightening echoes
that greets us,
at the door of our lives
and screams in violent screeches

---

We have gathered, brethren,
to cook tales of pain
for dinner comes quickly!
and we dine alone,
the forest's groaning
is a melody to our whimpering
for we wake each day
with sharpened stakes and spears
and returns filled with anguish
and empty baskets

---

We sire nocturnal desires,
at the night's loneliest hours,
unsure what ears
listens keenly,
to our gentle pleas.
watching the world sleep
is what delights us
for our heart is toughened,
by many many years
of threading through tides

---

Like caskets,
amidst the morn's mourning
We weep, wielding flowers,
for we already are defeated,
by the deafening noise
of the raging war
hopelessness
written on our faces
in bold letters
