Sunday Rambles - My Project

This week marks a special milestone on the blockchain for me. I reached my third anniversary, and, like many others, I've have finished my power down on the other side. That's good bye and good riddance. We had some good times together but you're no longer who you used to be. With my third anniversary, I'm moving ahead to a greater and better world.

Talking of a better world, when I wrote my first Sunday Rambles post a month ago (yup, that's another month of my life slipped away and I've achieved nothing) I talked about how I wanted to influence and help make Hive a better place.

During this month I've been thinking and talking to some people about this. I have some ideas, and I've even jotted down some notes which are beginning to look like a plan. Once I get my act together, I'll sit down properly to think it through on how it will work and whether I can manage it all by myself. I know some aspects I will need help, like getting a cool logo and some techie stuff which I have in mind. Most importantly, I will need a name for my project. I've sort of been using the lack of a name as my excuse, but there's a limit to how long I can stall things. Especially since I've been talking about it for a while. One has its reputation to think off, all talk and no action does not bode well!!! If I still can't come up with a name I like this week, I'm just going to call it MY Project!!!

The project I have in mind will be targetted towards minnows who have over 500 HP and have been on the platform for more than 6 months. There will be some other criteria as well. The objective is to get people to be active and stay on Hive, encourage and support them to post regularly, and give them a helping hand to grow in the long run. Ultimately, Hive will only grow if everyone grows at the same time.

It's not going to be mentorship or teach you all about Hive project, as these people have been around for long enough to (hopefully) know the basics of how Hive works. Nor is it going to be a pure curation program. I want this to be an active project, like a challenge, so people are actively participating,

My plan is more of a "Hey, please create content regularly and spread your wings around Hive". There's probably going to be a nudge every week where people have to post something different and try out different things. You never know, they might find something new or pick up new followers. (Just to be clear, I won't be telling people where to post to get the most upvotes. But if you really must, try this.) In return, they will, of course, be supported and rewarded as part of my objective is to help people with their long term growth.

And that's going to be the biggest challenge for me. The support needs to be worthwhile for people to make the effort to join the project. My own HP won't go very far. So I'll be knocking on some doors soon. Hopefully, I will get some support 😃

This week's ramble has actually been very useful for me as it's the first time I've put so much down on paper. The more I talk about it, even if it's to myself and no one reads this, the more pressure I will put myself to do something. No more faffing around, no more procrastination. Time to do something useful!!
