I'm sure something like that has happened. But the existence of the content reward pool is still much better for the stake distribution than the lack of one.

I fully agree that Hive seems to work a lot better in that regard. And I'm not panicking about either the reward or the content manipulation that is going on. It is everywhere, and we need to make the best use of any platform we choose to be part of.
That old quote "know your enemy" comes to mind - the CIA are damn good at this stuff and it's worth keeping that in mind!
