Goodbye to the Ninja-Mined Stake!

I would guess that by now everyone from my humble following is aware of the changes taking place, namely the Steem community migrating to Hive.

Apart from the obvious benefit of no longer having the Steemit stake constantly threatening our decentralization, there is another huge upside that I don't see people talking about much.

What I'm referring to is the massive dumping of coins to the exchanges every month that has devastated the value of our blockchain for years.

For the first time in many months we are back in the top 50 on coinmarketcap.com:

Of course I can't know for sure, but presumably people are trying to get as much Steem as they can get their hands on before the fork to Hive.

To all you HODLers out there who have believed in this community and stuck with it through all the trials and troubles, 2020 is going to be your year!

I wish I had more money to buy up coins. It is going to be really disappointing if people are just trying to milk the new system before it has even rolled out. This is our chance to start fresh and I don't want it to be besmirched by nefarious parties. If you didn't buy in and stake before Hive, why are you suddenly interested now? Not you personally, but that is what I think of these people who are buying in suddenly.

Well, I think some of it is people buying on the hype. Others are buying to have both coins when the fork happens. Others believe that the value will go up without the steemit stake constantly selling and driving the price down.

I expect to see a huge selloff right after the fork, but the price going up over the long run. I expect the selloff because it always happens with all crypto projects in these cases, no matter how good the potential.
