To live with responsibilities tied to your shirt,
as you suit up for appointments
and having to comfort others,
when you are hurting.
Staying strong for others
when you are weakening,
so that you can show the world that you are capable.

Having to carry burdens
yet, keeping the body fit
and ensuring not to look unkempt,
so that what you are facing doesn't surface
and having to spend sleepless nights,
just to make extra income,
to demonstrate ability.

It's not easy to be a man,
to wait till everyone closes their eyes,
before letting the tears run down
and quickly wipes it away before everyone opens their eyes.
It's not easy to be a man,
to keep the faith up
and accept fate when things go unexpectedly.

It's not easy to be a man,
socked with anxiety as he knows not
the next shoe he's going to put on.
It's just not easy to be a man,
for responsibilities will call always
and inability to pick its call,
will show his inability.
It's not easy to be a man,
when you see a man, respect him.
