Emergency chopper landing.

The wonderful work of our emergency services.

Coming in to land here. These are the heroes of our skies and our nation has learned to depend on them.

We live in a big country and not only accident victims, but also urgent hospital patients are referred and transferred by the helicopters.
They deserve recognition and my nickname for them is "Angels with wings". Even in risky conditions they do not hesitate to to lend a wing and many urgent cases have benefitted from their professional medical services.

Expert units were ready and waiting for the patient transfer from the chopper.
It was cold and the weather was darkening as a signal that more rain was coming.

The transfer was done and the crews were preparing for taking off again.

All done and here we had the lift off.

Higher and higher the chopper climbed into the sky.

Then it was the final farewell and the chopper disappeared into the darkening late afternoon clouds.

Some snow was still sticking around on the mountain peaks and it just goes to show that these valiant medical crews work in all weather conditions.

This service is so essential here, as there are many isolated rural towns and farms in the wild blue yonder. Most do not have the modern facilities that the big towns and the cities have and that's why these medical angels are so essential.
I remember that after my bike accident, I was transferred between 3 hospitals by ambulance in order to get me the best treatment for my shattered left leg. And that was in a city, so in the far off rural areas, a medical helicopter like this is a Godsend.
All hail to these heros.

And That's All Friends!

We hope that you have also appreciated the sterling work of these medical crews and I feel that we should do more to support them.

Time for the rich nations to unite in aid and to establish the essential services in every country methinks.
Instead of sending rockets to the moon, they can rather take that money and build emergency helicopters for every country.
Glad that you liked the post.

They are indeed like angels, their work is of paramount importance and they do deserve appreciation, it is not an easy job!

Totally agreed and I have a lady friend that pilots one of those emergency choppers.
They have a very tough job with long hours and at times in very dangerous conditions.
They certainly deserve all of the honor that they can get.

These rescue helicopters have become more and more important and they are heroes, just as you say, Zac. Some people here hike up mountains with wrong equipment, because they know a helicopter will come to rescue them, but if someone calls them wrongly they will get a nice bill.

It's those mountain rescues that are so dangerous Hannes.
Not only does the pilot have to take care of the rotor blades touching the rock faces, but the sudden gusts of strong winds can also slap the chopper right into to mountain face.
At the moment now we have a warning of another cold front that will land tomorrow and the advancing winds are running at 85kmh.

I took some nice photos today of the winds ripping the clouds into long feathered streamers.

Cheers and thanks.

It's very dangerous here too and it's always sad when a helicopter rescue team dies in an accident while rescuing stupid tourists.
But your winds are much stronger, of course, although in the flatter part of Austria they get stronger winds than we have here, and their weather is most times much worse ... but we have more snow in winter ;)

A very sad occasion when an accident happens and even if one is an experienced mountaineer, a loose rock at a high level can always happen.
But yes, I think that those rescue teams are true heros.

Cheers and thanks.

I'm replying quickly today, don't I? 🤣

I want to go to bed earlier because tomorrow will be a long day at work and later I want to go for a ride to my parents. Then I will probably be mostly offline till Saturday or even Sunday, but I'm not sure - I'm addicted, as you might know 😎😉

When you're in the mountains you have to keep your eyes always open and don't trust any stone you step on or you hold on. But you're right, even experienced mountaineers have accidents in the mountains, but mostly the unexperienced stupid people.

!PIZZA and !BEER - sounds like a nice dinner :)

No problem with the short replies my friend, as you gotta do what you can do 😉

Yes I know that you are addicted to Hive, but I am also glad that you are visiting your parents.
One of the old age homes has put out a call for new pillows and I will let you know if we could help.
I think as long as you have your phone, you will soon again pop up on Hive.
But I promise you that I will not keep tabs on you 🤣

I for one don't like to call people stupid, as I also belong to the stupid club 🤣
At least, I make enough mistakes to be called the President of the stupid club 🤣
Accidents will always happen my friend and after a person was rescued, I don't think that they will make the same mistake again 😉

Cheers and thanks.
