Neutralizing the dangers in life!

A ram can strike at a tremendous force and can break a bone when he butts a human.

Raining here for the next week, as if the lockdown is not enough and tough times of flooding await the people in the townships and the squatter camps. Nowadays they call them informal settlements.
I digress again, as today I found these treasured memories in my files.
Let's have a look!

IMG_1029_LI.jpg

We used to bring the children from the orphan homes to this farm where they have a huge play area and rides for the children!
Above you can see some of them happy to take a tractor ride with their minders!

IMG_1016.JPG

This time we were lucky as they were cleaning the goat pens and the goats were all outside!
Marian (wife) gave them some carrot slices!

IMG_1017.JPG

Look! This guy can put a large dent in a car door, but here he wants Marian to pat his head!

IMG_1018.JPG

A bit of love and they have become as meek as lambs, or is that kids hahaha.

Now we move on to some bigger animals!

IMG_0962.JPG

A donkey can remember a person that is kind to them and the same as the squirrels here at our new place, they have laid a claim to Marian as their own.

IMG_0958.JPG

Of course he knew that he was going to get some carrots!
No, he has never bitten Marian!

IMG_0963.JPG

As usual his wife came along and they finished the whole lot of carrots in the packet!

IMG_0967.JPG

As we left them behind, they knew that we were going to the dam!

IMG_0821.JPG

Oh yeah! The geese saw us coming and look how happy they stormed towards us. "They need coolin, honey baby I'm not foolin" "Whole Lotta Love"
I twisted the lyrics a bit of this song by "Iron Maiden" Lol.

And That's All Folks!

So there you have it. Love and respect are great tools to neutralize the dangers in life. A calm demeanor, even under tremendous stressful pressure can sure work wonders. I remember a human animal frothing at the mouth, storming at me with murder in his eyes and I calmed him down in an instant. Never saw him again.

The issue is to never show fear as others can feel it and then they will switch into domination. Calmness and friendliness can work wonders in life and they definitely can divert many hurts, both physically and mentally.

Now why am I on about this issue?
Simply because I hear the callous anger that this virus lockdown has created in some souls and it doesn't sit well with me!

If we could do something about it then it would be a different matter, but we can't and therefore we have to endure it in calmness until the storm is gone. No use in moaning and anger, as it has never helped anyone.
And once the storm has left, we will pick up the pieces and carry on with life!
Think about it!

Thank you JJ and you are right as the kids loved it.
I think you know that we took many of them out in the years that we were up there.
Blessings and take care!
