Some lovely starlight sights to see here in our little town.

Christmas for many is a time for getting together with their families in peace love and happy conversations. A time of festivities, eating drinking and for many also dancing.
Handing out gifts to excited faces and watching the glee on the faces when they open the gifts. Shouts of joy and happy laughter, especially from the children.
After a tough year everyone deserves a happy break.

So here is one of my handmade specials for all of you. Don't laugh as it is my own photo that I doctored in a simple way, but the wishes come from our hearts.

Okay, now let's have a look at the lights in the main road of the town.

Now watch how that second light, a star, changes in the next photo. It starts with a blank and only an outline.

I remember the Christmas times of my youth and there were always just the 5 of us. My gran, mom, 2 sisters and me. Happy times and presents didn't matter, as there was no money for them. My mom was the only breadwinner.

Then as youngsters we all 3 of us left the house, got ourselves jobs, got married and had children. My son was my 21st year birthday present and my third child was born in the year of my 23rd birthday.
As the kids grew up we started having big Christmas parties, up to 15 children with their parents and it was always a mad house. Food, drinks and gifts all over the place.

To cut a long lifetime story short, for the past 20 years and today there's only 2 of us at Christmas time. Me and my wife and we don't do gifting for ourselves. In fact we do gifting through @papilloncharity to thousands of poor children and orphans out there.

Not for the past 3 years though, as Papillon has relocated to another province and we left all of our funders behind, as they concentrate their funding in our old province.
But in time, I am sure that we will build our funding up again to continue what we do for the children at Christmas time.

This is also a great and sincere thank you to every special soul here on hive that supports our work.
May all the good that you do be seen in heaven and be returned unto you 10 fold.

Didn't catch that. Might have been doff. Was thinking kommetjie does not have a very long main road. Also went yo town instead. Was meh. My 3 year old wasn't impressed for long either.

Yep, nothing like the lights in the big cities, but we have lived so long in a big city ith np mountains and no sea, that I will not go near one again to live.
Since we moved in here 3 years ago, we have been to Cape Town city 5 times. Two of them were doctor visits.

I'm not the biggest fan of Christmas decorations, but they are okay as long as it's not overdone.

We also don't gift the adults, but the kids get a few things they need, my daughter gets pencils for school and a game, but no computer game. It's a very old board game for two called "fox and chicken" that isn't as easy as it looks like, and our son gets some parts for his motorbike.

I'm not sure if I will be online later, so I am wishing you and your Lady Marian Merry Christmas and a happy and healthy New Year, my friend 🎄

Hahaha, we don't even have a Christmas tree in the house my friend, but I also thought that the street lights looked okay. I remember in the earlier years I used to take my small children to a place called Joubert Park. They had all kinds of Christmas lights and lit up robots and fairies there and the kids really enjoyed themselves there. But today its all gone and my children are also gone.

Sensible gifts that you give them and it sounds like you know that game "fox and the turkey".
I saw that 2 can play it and maybe you want your daughter to play it with you. I just wonder what part you will choose? Fox or the turkey? Remember that you are a mountain goat 🤣

We have a living tree - a small pine tree that stays on our balcony during the rest of the year.

Some places and houses are full of lights and decorations - that's too much for me.

I don't know if it's the same game as "fox and chicken" but I have just won 2 games - one game I was the chicken and in the second I was the foxes. Now she's playing with my wife and now she wins 🤣

Nope, no living tree here and no lights. Even the Christmas cards have stopped coming as nowadays everyone send their wishes on the internet. I miss those lovely old big Christmas cards with the nice drawings and pictures.

Ah, so not only have you taught your son the values of denial, but now you have also taught your daughter how to cheat.
This can backfire spectacularly on you my friend as they are already trying their skills on you and one of these days you will be on a permanent losing streak 🤣🤣🤣

Ha, so you say, but remember that I know you 🤣
We got one chocolate bar to share between me and my 2 sisters. As the only man in the house I had to share the chocolate bar and no problem, as I would first take a big bite off the bar and then I would split the remainder into 3 equal parts.

This went on for a while until my mom caught me and so I was relieved of the sharing duties after a smack 🤣

A wonderful gift to me as I read this my friend.
I have to take care that I do not really believe these things about myself, as then it might lure me into thinking that I am what I am not. Just an ordinary man that is fortunate to have the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Of course I don't speak to many about this, but only to the ones that I know will understand. Such as yourself.

To be honest, I have no interest in technology as you know my interests, but I work hard in here so that it can secure my real interests. It is very important for the work that we do.

This is the project that I will post soon and you are the first to see it. Took me this whole year to work with the CEO of Imibala and his team to finally launch it and the students love it.
The article will also appear in our local newspapers.

An ordinary man for sure, but with a heart of gold.
That's some big news and seeing all of your efforts come to fruition must have been just a great Christmas present.
The program you have structured sounds like it will do so much good for those that are motivated to learn and in turn become employable.
The value of encouraging creativity and free play can't be overstated.
Creativity induces interest, learning, and a feeling that many things are possible if one has the opportunity to dream.

Thank you for the kind words Sir,

I forgot to mention that it is a continuous process. As the current students move over to their new grade, a new batch of students will be enrolled to follow the same 3 year process.

Once that the current students have done the python exams and received their certificates, then the program will be proofed and then we can enlarge the first year intake.
But as always, time will tell.

Another plan that I have is to recruit the certificated students into hive where their Python experience will bode very well for them as developers.

I also have some other plans in mind, but will hang on until things settle down.
All that I am happy to say is that the kids are all loving it and that's 50% of the task done.

Sorry for the late reply my friend, we've been in New Jersey for the past several days visiting family.

When students really enjoy what they are doing, that's when real learning takes place.
I love the idea of getting the students that have become certified involved with hive. Hive will give them an opportunity to immediately put their newly gained skills into practice right from the get-go.

A funny name for a place, but they must have their reasons.

Yes, you read my mind as eager young students can mean a lot to hive and it could even give them an entry into the crypto world. We are sitting on a heap of trouble with our lack of employment in this country and hive could offer a great future to the students. Once they are qualified of course.

So you are up and about and I hope that the new hip is settling in.
Like I said life cannot keep a good man down.
