Ma Movie Review - Get Home Safe

Psychological horror films make a special impression on the audience, with their psychological and nervous excitement, and today we have a film that did not receive a high rating, but gave us a distinguished experience about the psychological transformation within a girl, which led her to brutal acts.

The film, directed by Tate Taylor and starring Octavia Spencer, was released in May of last year.
In this review, I will try to convey to you my experience with the film and my impression of it, but let's talk first about the story.

The story

The story is simply about a girl who moves to a new house with her father and mother. The girl quickly grows up and reaches her teenage years.
As usual, any new girl is trying to make new friends, so she will get to know a group of young people who want someone over the legal age to buy them drinks.
In contrast to the progress of things, the new girl who does not know anyone turns to be an aid to those corrupt young men and buys them what they ask for, but more than that, she provides a place for them in her home so that they can party and enjoy fun and drinking.
After that, we will follow how the bloody events turned and we will move on to the horror segment in the film.

Character and photography

Perhaps it was Octavia Spencer's performance that added real pleasure to the movie, as we were lavished with her evil looks and strong performance that literally fit the role she played.

As for photography, we did not see enough proficiency in photography, and the film could have been taken out better if the camera movements were more slow and the transition between shots was not that fast.
In horror films, you must give the viewer a chance to beat his heart and feel the horror that you pour in the events of the film.

General impression

Although the events of the film have been repeated more than once in series such as The Act, according to the nature of the person and the time, the similarity exists, so the film did not come to us with a new story.
But in spite of that, Octavia Spencer presented a very impressive performance, especially in its looks, which represented a complete horror of its own. Her looks, even if she did not speak, represented a real performance although her performance was exaggerated at times.

The bloody scenes in the movie and the horror and sadistic events that occurred were a very elaborate performance. There is no place for anyone to fear or disgust while watching this movie.

But in spite of that, the film is considered a lot of events have been revealed in the advertisement, and it is a mistake that is counted on the producers. Whoever saw the official advertisement of the film can expect the course of events as soon as he saw the girl's acquaintance with those young men.

And finally ....
The rhythm of the film is somewhat turbulent, as there are several points that the film was late in reaching, which made me bored many times, as the repetition dominated the beginning of the film.

"Ma" is relatively normal, but if you haven't watched the official advertisement or watched similar films, it might impress you.
