Have a nice day! The tradition of decorating homes and clothing with decorative patterns originated in Ukraine long before the advent of Christianity. People believed that in beautiful ornaments there is a magic power that protects the owners from evil forces and misfortune.

Today I will show you interesting Souvenirs and crafts in the technique of Petrikov painting. This painting was once founded by Pyotr Kalnyshevsky, and today Kuban masters paint in this technique not only dishes, but also various handmade Souvenirs.

Petrikov painting is one of the unique manifestations of artistic culture. The culture is ancient, rooted in the depths of history. A national culture that embodies the spiritual wealth and creative generosity of the people.

It was in Petrikovka-a free Cossack village that an interesting custom arose to paint the walls of huts with colorful floral patterns. They were drawn with brushes made of cat hair, and sometimes with simple matches wrapped in soft cloth. Some Cossacks managed to draw simple patterns with their fingers.

Today we can admire this interesting technique not only at fairs, but also in children's art homes.

In the old days, many colors were bred on eggs and milk, and the colors were chosen-the brightest, to match the colorful nature of the Dnieper and the fertile Kuban land.

Many masters reflected in their works not only the phenomena of local flora and fauna, but also creatively reinterpreted nature in accordance with popular ideas. That was half-magic onions, Burachki, kucheryavski. And next to quite realistic images of roosters or cuckoos appeared these fabulous firebirds.

This ornament is not complicated and easy to remember. The poet B. Dubrovin once wrote these words about him:

The ornament looks inconspicuous,
But he lives for centuries.
Don't waste it in the white light
Since ancient times, people take care of...

The color scheme of the Petrikov painting is very diverse. The traditional color combination for this technique was green leaves and red shades of colors, and auxiliary colors were yellow, maroon and orange.

@singa, Design and Colour Patterns are definitely diverse and most importantly it shows that Ancient Human Beings were connected to the Art Realm so deeply and purely. Stay blessed.
