Ever since the outbreak of COVID-19 throughout the world and when it was first detected in a Filipino believed to be the first local transmission case in the country, Filipinos are abruptly changing their decisions and actions in the fight against the spread of the disease. Infact, as early as March 14, the company I am working with was already planning to implement a new skeletal workforce for our jobs; creating a new working schedule that limits us to do field works and interactions with clients and subcontractors.

But when the news came out on March 18, that there were 29 persons under investigation in nearby city, our admin announces a total halt on our operation. This is to avoid the possibility of affecting or exposing their workers that are of utmost importance of the company, especially those in the NCR where most of the Filipinos tested positive with this contagious disease. I am so glad that our company knows the risks of this plaguing disease. They began to take action just days before the government's derictives were implemented like the total lockdown of NCR and precautionary quarantine orders for monitored cities and provinces. They also provided us our full salary for the month of March and April, enough for our basic necessities and needs.

Strict implementation of the Enhance Commumity Quarantine now exists in our area. There are also police scattered to watch out for people who can leave their homes. The local government has distributed quarantine passes for families affected by the executive orders and exemption passes for workers who need to work in this present condition. Proper social distancing should also be observed in any public places, maintained by government officers in any barangays. For the next couple of weeks or months(in worst scenario), people's normal lives before will transition into a whole new concept normalities.

Despite all of these preemptive measures from the government and the total mess this disease brought to our lives, I still get to enjoy my hours spending indoors. Just like a normal weekend after work, I could eat and rest well and usually spend my time over the internet and time for my family ofcourse.

I have more time for my niece. Babysitting is really not an easy job.

I rarely go out with friends or co-workers whenever I have some free time so this is pretty normal to me to be honest. But except for one thing that I really miss, taking my bike to a joyride. Now, I can only ride my bike to stores or to make use in finishing some personal errands.

This was my last ride earlier this year together with my brothers.

Even though our company has cut our primary roles as field engineers, we are still bound to provide online support to our clients. Some of our design engineers are already working from home to manage project biddings and designs. While some of us including me as a field engineer, were encourage to attend webinars and product enablement online. Just recently, I attended two webinars about data networking and FDAS. So basically, I am working from home and that is 2 to 3 hours of my daily workload schedule.

Career development never cease despite facing challenges.

I browse the internet most of the time whether I'm on work or not. I always keep myself updated with the latest happenings, news, and events. And just to be sure not get hooked by the rampant fake news online, I always do my own research. Now that I have much more time online for the next 30 days or more, I make sure I get the most information out of it. This includes using Hive blockchain and other cryptocurrencies I personally made as my investments. I do regular checks of my crypto portfolio everyday. Some I consider as my long term investemnts and some are just for fun coins.

Talking about fun, most of the quarantined people now were going crazy with this very viral TikTok app. I find it very funny to watch my friends making such video comedies content using this app and share it on facebook. I almost want to make my very own because of boredom but nah, I didn't do it. I won't do it ever. Additionally, I spent an hour or 2 on watching some of my favorite animes before. I do it before going to bed or to feel sluggish in bed.

To sum up my #quarantinelife, I am more on a static mode at home especially during this time of crisis where every movement is monitored or being cautious about. I often do strenous activities but I do early morning push-ups and squats just be lively for the next hours of being stagnant. But being static sometimes doesn't mean that I am not doing anything. I can still do reach out to my friends and relatives and ask them if they're still okay. I can still do household chores and fulfill career advancement by working at home. And lastly, I can still explore more opportunities in Hive.

On a personal note:

This COVID thing has significantly changed the way we live our lives right now. Our lifestyle bluntly transforms to either positive or negative paths. This may be the call for our government to invest more time and money in medicine and health. We'll never know what maybe the worst to come in the near future.

I hope we can overcome this big health challenge we inevitably facing right now. Tomorrow is still uncertain but I'm sure this pandemic will absolutely end.

I'd like to thank @derangedvisions and @theycallmedan for pulling this kind of initiative online. I believe you both have the same initiative running so I put my entry in a one single post. Kudos guys!
