10 dot art work no 10.jpg

Another unfinished artwork

I meant to create a fully dotted artwork when I started this one, but I honestly wanted to add some other things while I'm still waiting on the tools to create different sizes of dots. This is how I started it months ago:

I remember that I just found the shade of pink and silver at the time and wanted to create a totally different set of colors on this work, which (as you may have noticed above) turned out totally different as expected. This is mostly the case though, but sometimes, I surprise myself the most seeing how things turn out. I just use my intuition and don't have a solid plan usually.

The process

Let's have a look at the different stages in the process, as you will notice in the last picture of these four, the added purple gives a totally different feel to the work.

You probably also noticed, that I'm still not mastering the art of balancing out these things and having exact opposite points, oh well, practice makes perfect they say.

I remember that adding some brown in another work surprised me (in a good way), while I usually don't fancy using brown, I should do so more often. I think it looks nice with many colors. You can see that adding green after the brown and then even some white and yellow accents make this work look totally different compared to the previous four pictures. But I personally like where this is going and suddenly I didn't feel lost anymore and knew exactly how to finish it.

I decided I liked creating the lines in there and continued to doing so until there was a point where I felt that I covered up the imbalance enough to add the final touch: fuchsia colored flowers. And that's the final result:

I hope you enjoyed seeing the process, see you next time :)
