Getting to know my new toy: Huawei P30 Pro

Last week I bought a new phone

I was actually planning on signing a contract with this phone, even though I haven't had a contract for years now. I prefer prepaid because I use mobile data so little that WIFI at home is covering most of my data usage. But the darn phone is so expensive and costing way more than I'd ever spend on a phone. What to do?

I went in and out several provider stores, one even less satisfying than the other. Why? Because apparently (they fail to mention this on all these websites!) you have to pay at least 50% of the phone upfront if you never had a contract with them before. Prepaid is excluded from this rule. Shit. Seems like that phone may take some time now.

As if it was meant to be, there it was!

I was quite frustrated at this time because everyone failed to explain this rule to me. So I was counting down the days that I'd be officially self-employed again the first of July so that I could go pick out the contract with this phone I so desired. It wasn't cool to get one disappointment after the other after the date arrived, and I felt this wasn't going to work out as planned. Walking out of the last store, I decided to let it go and just buy one in some months after the move was behind us.

We sat down for lunch and when we were done eating, my boyfriend noticed a mobile phone service center where they also sell some mobile phones. The Huawei P30 Pro was offered for sale as well, one of them in the color "Sunrise Red" which would not have been my first choice if I'd had to pick a new one in the provider's store. BUT who cares about the color when the phone is covered with a case anyway and when the phone is spotless and brand-new?

I saved 50% for the phone price plus two years being stuck to a contract I honestly didn't want

I have to admit, I never bought a phone in this price range without a contract and I had to think about it for a while before I could commit, but in the end, I brought home a phone that was given to a girlfriend by a guy and she didn't like it, so it was brought there within a few days. The phone is spotless, not a scratch to be found! And it cost only 50% of the new price! I'm so freaking happy with it. The charger is like a supercharger lol, it takes one hour to be completely charged. Probably very bad for the battery, yes.. I know ;)

I have been practicing all the options the cameras have to offer

As I'm not a pro, it may take a while to discover how it all works. I already had some great pictures taken of people (which I can't share because of privacy, so that sucks) and now I'm trying to go outside daily to hunt for cool things so that I can practice the options all the cameras offer. I would love to write a review but for that, I really know too little about the cameras so far.

I hope you enjoyed the two flower pictures though, at least they remind me of summertime because of the color :)
