Delegation of power actually means sharing tasks and responsibilities to people within or without your business environment. This position is majorly for business owners and not the self employed.

The self employed create jobs for oneself where income is depended on the presence of the owner. Without the owner, nothing moves, no income, no managerial decisions and no sales. While a business owner is majorly in charge of leadership and managerial decisions, while sales, income, marketing and other aspect of the business is highly or partly depended on team members (people).

As a business owner, you choose your strengths in your business, it can be the income, sales or leadership roles, but whatever it is, you must make sure it is what you are really good at and focus on them. So imagine, taking all these roles to become your responsibility?

That fear is not wrong but what is wrong is building people up who knows nothing about your business. How wrong is that? Very wrong! The more you allocate tasks to people, the more they become engaged in your business. With several trials, some day, they will become experts just the way you want them to be.

How beautiful is it to know and trust people who can get things done just the way you want it. This can only be achieved through trainings and such trainings will get better through experiences and experiences can only be gotten through the delegation of tasks.

Multitasking is never an advicable skill to adopt in business but in household chores, it is really perfect. You can cook and clean the house but you can't do ground marketing and online marketing all by yourself, and even if you do, get ready to shut down mentally.
It only becomes better when you are able to delegate responsibilities to other people. You begin to see changes when every one has a task to handle, less stress and more growth

Many renowned old businesses are still in existence today because they invested in people. They trained people who will take the brand to eternity. This act can only be achieved through delegating responsibilities to people. Once there is responsibility, there must be trainings you as a business owner need to make accessible to your staffs.
You don't want to start a business with the vision of it folding up in few years to come. Invest in people and watch your growth.

Notwithstanding, have heard people get so confused on the kind of personality to delegate tasks to and the kind of tasks, especially the sensitive ones. Well, you need to be picky too when assigning sensitive tasks and also, you need to consider those who are not too smart enough to have several trials. But above all, such personality needs to love you and your business. They need to show some level of passion in dealing with your business especially in solving problems.
