That is maximizing supplier relationship and developing the strategic approach for executing on these determinants. Determining which is the most efficient, more reliable, easier to work with and of higher quality. There are different approaches to supplier relationship management which includes reactive and strategic approach but figuring which works best for your business. Although strategic approach is better in making sure you are ready and better prepared for risks and difficulties that may come up.

A lot of businesses owners don't pay attention to their supplier relationship and in turn your customers suffer, when your customers suffer the business also suffers because they are not well taken care of by your suppliers. They are the main link to the end consumer and so it is really important and crucial every business pays attention to. The need to develop a mutually beneficial relationship with all your suppliers cannot be over emphasized as it improves the oversly business process.

There are different ways to go about streamlining the best suppliers that favour your business, one of which is using a scorecard to compare suppliers based on their performance over a period of time. With this it is easier to narrow down on the best suppliers and help keep track of problems and solutions that may arise in the process of supplying. There are so many benefits of SRM to a business which are directly linked to profit maximization.

A major benefit is reduced cost, as a business, maximizing as much profit in every process is important and with a good SRM that is a walk in the park. With a good SRM, over time trust and relationship is built which ultimately lead to reduced cost unlike working with a new supplier every time. Not only reducing cost but reduce future problems, cut down on unnecessary time wasting and that means serving your customers even better. The longer the supplier relationship the more mutually beneficial the relationship will become. Consolidation of the supply team also grows. With a better supplier relationship there will be increased inter operation, adaptation at in fact gradually lower costs. Shifting grounds to better accommodate each other and so lead to more efficiencies and operational advantages.
Stable pricing is also a benefit of a good SRM as it helps streamline on suppliers who offer fixed prices reducing the loss that could arise from fluctuations as a result of increase volatility of commodity prices. Huge fluctuations in market prices would discourage customers and affect your business's profit generation which can be avoided by taking advantage of fixed pricing and long term contracts.

Just like I mentioned in the beginning, the purpose of SRM is to improve understanding between your business and your suppliers and so cause efficiency in business processes, continual improvement of operations.
