Holly the Fallen Angel - another image Before and After, plus retouching video!

Hello!

I'm continuing to edit this Fallen Angel shoot as I get time (and can maintain my focus!) and there's many, many more images left to retouch. I'm not making an image for each photograph in this set, but I have a few more to come.

Those who follow my blog with some regularity will know what I said in my last post:

I've worked with Adelaide based model, Holly Boon a lot in the past, and in particular, our collaborations tend to the theatrical and dramatic. This is in due part to the fact that Holly has an excellent make up artist as a close friend.

The concept for this shoot was an Angel falling from grace. Shot in my home studio, which necessitated a fair bit of retouching, in particular, removing the background in Photoshop.

Here's the retouch video for this image:

and the final retouch:

There's skin retouching, dodging, burning, and sharpening. There's also the standard camera raw adjustments to bring out more detail in certain areas of light and shadow.

I've got one more of these videos without any audio, then I've got one where I have recorded audio during my retouch. :) Stay tuned for more!

That was fun to watch. Maybe I can give you a photo of me and you can make me look 25 pounds skinnier.

Telephoto lenses help a lot with compression of subjects. Otherwise you can use the liquefy tool in Photoshop. Posing also helps. There's entire text books on it. I've read a lot of them!

I treat my photography like serious business (its also a passion, though!)

This shot reminds me of the Child-like Empress from Never-Ending Story.

Had a look at her instagram. That's some mad flexibility. (cropped = sfw)

Wow the difference :O

It's probably really easy for you now, I always found things hard to get right when I was playing around with photo editing. I have never known how to use dodge and burn properly though XD
