Holly the Fallen Angel - yet another image before and after, plus retouching video!

This is by far the most pictorial and narrative dense image of the Fallen Angel photoshoot with Holly. This is where the fun started to unfold, with the addition of fake blood.

Created using sugar syrup, cocoa powder, and red food colour, I think it was very convincing.

The final image in this video differs from what I produced, as I continued to tweak the image further after the video recording was finished, based on some feedback from close friends (and Holly herself) following the final image.

The sword was held in frame by a photographic assistant, and this was the strongest of the frames from this pose, of which there were several. We were focusing on capturing a powerful, believable facial expression for this image, and through Holly's brilliance, we generated this awesome image!

The final image is here:

There's a variety of changes made in this image, notably colour, the halo (which I didn't capture in the video) - and the "wing-gore" that I added to make the sword impact upon Holly's angel wings all the more convincing.

The next video will be completely commentated, where I explain each and every move I make while retouching!

All that face glow coming from the halo? I kinda like the darker moodier shot more XD I think the "wing gore" definitely makes it better though, looks like she's being stabbed now rather than someone holding a sword there ;D

I didn't realise pictorial had so many definitions O_O (looked it up trying to understand your use here)

Think everyone involved made this come together really well :)

Pictorial, as in, telling a story, having lots of hidden queues and meaning :) Using representative elements, etc :D
