Flat not run [Exhaust Running Report, June 10th 2020]

I didn't sleep enough in the last days and I was very sleepy this afternoon. I was practically sleeping on a couch with a book in my lap. Then I got a virtual kick from my son and wife. They we coming home and phoned to tell me to go out for a run. And so I did, thank you.

The plan, when you may call it, was to go on a flat run, two kilometers in the Magpie's Valley, turn back and come home. I even took the flat and fast running shoes.

It turned out differently as it often does. I have many photos to tell you the story.


After a mile into the valley I was fed up with too many walkers and have decided to make a right turn and go up to the ridge trail.

Half way up I went searching for a trail where there weren't any.

It was just a lot of fern with some bramble bushes. Very thorny.

Fallen trees were everywhere. This run involved some horizontal climbing too.

Then I found this little treasure. First blueberries of the season. They are not big and sweet enough yet.

Bushwhacking forward I found the trail ...

... only to loose it again at this dead-end.

Running back then up I finally came out of the bush and on a main trail. It was by the Cene Štupar monument.

From here it was another two miles of cozy trail to get me back home.

Funny how a sleepy flat run can turn into an adventure in the bush with added bonus of the blueberries.

Super. Zdaj se moramo pri nas le še zmeniti, kdaj bo sin imel kak trening. Običajno sem jaz taxi in takrat ne tečem na črnuškem koncu. Danes, na primer, grem spet do Kamniške Bistrice. Se piševa.

lol all in all i'd say that was quite the adventure. I also find it intriguing that you follow new paths for your runs. I kinda like the comfort of my old, boring paths

Nice story and self explaining pictures. I am impressed by the watch app you use. I don't think garmin or strava have that functionality.
