Today, Its been 10 days since I started my Splinterlands journey.

I deliberately used the word journey because Splinterlands is so much like life, full of ups and downs. There are times when you win 7 back to back battles and be on the top of the world, while on the other occasion, you loose 10 battles in row and be grounded.

Splinterlands can give you a lot of life lessons.

I din't know this before I started though.
In the beginning , I contemplated for while whether it will be worth investing 10 dollars on this game.
There was so much of uncertainty in my mind.

However, I am not going to let you go through this.

To celebrate my 10th day, I thought I'll come up with an Awesome Blog with number 10. Hence , I thought Ill write about 10 Reasons to Start Playing Splinterlands.

I am overusing the number 10. Isn't it?

What can I do?

The occasion is so.

Let's get started

#1. Built on top of the Hive Blockchain

Who are we?

Hiver's right!

Wouldn't we prefer playing a game in our own blockchain?
Yes.
Splinterland is built on the Hive Blockchain, which means all the assets you on the game will attached to your Hive account. You can simply access your splinterlands account with your Hive Posting keys.

Can it get anymore simpler?

#2. Splinterlands is Decentralized

This is kind of an extension of the first point.

Can anything to do with Hive ever be centralized?

Haha.

Splinterlands is no exception.
Players playing this game can own and trade their cards without the role of any centralized authority.

Wow!
That is real freedom.

#3. The cards only increases in value

There are numerous examples where collectible cards have been sold for insane prices in the past.

Things are not very different with crypto collectibles, A Ethereum based crypto kitty was once sold for a whopping 170,000 Dollars. Yes, People can go crazy over these things.

Rarer the assets, higher the value.

However,It is still early days with only 3rd edition of cards recently released,The numbers are not that high yet. We should make this opportunity by investing and collecting as many cards as well can.

Older edition cards have a higher value with time.

So keep collecting.

#4.You can earn Hive

The main currency that you earn in this game is called Dark Energy Crystals. You can earn this currency by playing Season Battles,Daily Quests,Tournaments and selling the game assets that you earned after you complete seasons and quests(cards, potions,obs and packs).

You can send this Dark Energy Crystals to Hive Engine to convert them to our favorite token, Hive.

Isn't that Awesome?

#5. You can earn other Cryptocurrencies

Would want something else if you get Hive?

Nah.

This option is for the people from other networks outside Hive Blockchain. You can convert your Dark Energy Crystals to Ethereum,Tron and Steem.

#6. You can buy and sell cards

If you are someone who doesn't want to spend time playing this game, you can just buy, hold and sell your cards at a profit. Lot of people do this already actually. You can buy and sell these cards card from

You will never fail to find topics to write blogs, once you start playing splinterlands. People in this gaming community, want to know your gaming experience,stories and strategies. You can pen all of this down and post it on Hive to make some income from here as well.

As you can see, I am already doing it :P

You can't write well?

Oh! No worries.

I have an alternate plan for you.

Start making tutorials videos about the game or videos discussing your strategies. Such Videos will be really valuable for other players, will most likely get some appreciation from the community.

#10. Grow your network

As I mentioned in my previous blog on splinterlands, gaming can be a great way to break the ice with a stranger and start socializing. I am saying this by experience as I have connected with loads of people by playing games on the blockchain in the past.

So If you are struggling to connect with people, splinterlands can be a talking point to start having a conversion and make good friends.

Why do we play games?

To have a good time, right?

We get exactly this with splinterlands, Once you start your journey, you realize that you are lost in this world of all the monsters and everything else is so insignificant.

The aspect collecting more cards and leveling up is so much fun that we would still play this game, even if you din't get the additional perks.
