The secret behind the mysterious power of cocatrice that makes it invincible in battles

in The City of Neoxian2 months ago

In the realm of splinterlands where different kind of monsters exist ranging from the strongest to the weakest, there also exist a dragon called cocatrice and so many find this monster to be a mysterious one. it is not a strong monster nor is it weak but very hard to kill by range and melee attacks.. Many people ponder why it is so and what makes this monster invisible to monsters that are ten times more powerful than it.. .

I am writing this post to unravel the mystery behind cocatrice mysterious power and why many monsters actually miss their attack on it several times ...

While most Dragons live in Draykh-Nahka, the little miscreant known as Cocatrice can be found pretty much anywhere in the Splinterlands. Their favorite activity seems to be wrecking markets by night. In battle, they are annoyingly difficult to hit, and they never stop squawking.

Edition: Beta
Rarity: Rare
Element: Neutral

Cocatice is a 2 mana monster that belongs to the beta edition and also can be used in any battles that support using neutral monsters, it is bestowed upon with 2 unique abilities which are:

  • Flying: Has an increased chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks from Monsters who do not have the Flying ability.
  • Dodge: Has an increased chance of evading Melee or Ranged attacks.

These two abilities plus its high speed is what makes it very hard to hit in battles and hence most players start fuming when their monsters keep missing it in battles, even when i started playing splinterlands i do get angry when my monsters keep missing cocatice but there is a saying if you can not win them, you got to join them lol.. so it is one of my favorite card that i normally use in battle now.....

Let me show a good example where cocatrice was at its best, being invisible to the enemies attack, the rule of the battle stated:

  • Earthquake: Non-flying monsters take two melee damage at the end of each round.
  • Lost magic: Monsters with magic attack may not be used in battles.

This rule happens to be the one that favors cocatrice the most cos it is a flying monsters and magic monsters that have higher chance of taking it down can't be used in the battle.

I used the cocatrice as my first card knowing it will take the enemy forever to take it down due to it being hard to hit in battles and in the battle, out of like 14 attacks on it, only one attack hit it, which makes the story about cocatrice true and not a myth

i used this card as my second card to reduce one melee attack from my opponent melee monsters and also give one more life to all my monsters.

The fear of my enemy using cocatrice as his first card got to me as well so i decided to go with snipers, so if i can take down all the back monsters fast enough then they can all face his coca and kill it no matter the misses, so i used mantoid as my first sniping monster due to its speed and the snare ability to take away the flying ability from flying monsters.

The child of the forest is a sniper too and also has the snare ability which makes it suitable for the battle along with his high speed, i used it as my fourth card...

I love this monster for so many things ranging from her healing ability to protect and flying ability, she is really a strong monster and with her in a battle i feel so confident, i used it as my fifth card so it can protect all my monsters and also heal coca at the front incase of hit...

I used this card as my last card due to his halving ability, incase my monster comes with enrage monster at the front, he will help me reduce it power by half which gives me higher chance of winning the battle....

The battle was really in my favor as my opponent suffered a great tons of misses due to me placing coca at the front while i use my snipers to disorganize his set up at the back....
