Fixing my City - dCity reclamation project

I recently decided it was time for me to start playing dCity. When the game first launched, I jumped in pretty early, bought a few cards and then never checked my city again. Since then several months have passed and my city wasn't faring very well. This week I've been trying to correct that.

When I first checked back in, my popularity was sitting around -100, that's not very good. A large source of that was 2 garbage dumps giving me -30 a piece. I sneakily moved those over to another account to jump me up to a much more reasonable -40.

From there it was time to stock up on workers for all my old cards I got from my initial purchase. Even with my stockpile of homeless and immigrants, I still need a lot of citizens. I knew this would help me 2 fold, get my old cards operational for income and to start chipping away at my negative popularity. I initially focused on buying a few basic home's they are cheap and an easy way to increase population. This got me all the way back up to 0 popularity.

Now it was starting to feel like I could really grow my city. Having a positive popularity really help explode your population. I was sitting 296 in the rankings before adding 3 parks. Each one really felt like a huge boon to my city and a few cards later I'm sitting at 403 population and comfortably in the top 300.

I want to start diving into all the new mechanics next and I think my next purchases are going to be a research center, art gallery and job center. I plan on buying 1 fresh pack each day and cards as needed off the market to make sure I keep everything headed in the right direction.

I have a lot to learn in dCity and I'm really excited about it since I jumped back in. What do you think a good next step would be for my city? Any critical areas I need to be focusing on?
