I. Getting a job in this tough time - Focusing on one major field

One of my acquaintance succeeded to get a job in this tough time.
She is a very socialized person not to fear sharing her own experience and knowledge. So she shared all her job hunting progress by Tweet.

She quit her job around a half year ago.
Why? Just wanted to take a long rest and have fun in the last several months.
She is that sort of person.

As a result, she succeeded to get a good job that her salary increased and could choose the position that she had wanted.
This is her own analysis why she could be successful in getting a new job.

1. She had focused and concentrated on just one her major field
2. What she had focused was “Right place at the right timing”
3. She was not in a hurry while focusing on improving her own capability
   So with all these points, she experienced to get a job and having higher level.

Right place at the right timing

Coronavirus has made economy broken down and many people lost their jobs. But there are clearly rising field such as e-commerce, delivery, productivity software and entertainment.

She had been in this advanced technology industry so was not so difficult to find jobs even in coronavirus pandemic.

Some growing companies in this tough time wanted to hire experienced senior leader.
In this chaotic period, generally nobody wants to hire junior employee except the companies that many political games take place and are not interested in business growth.
There are very few ones who have enough room to invest in junior for long-term future and startups minimize its spending and most of companies need senior employees to accelerate its business minimizing investment.

She confessed that there were just less than a half that approached her to offer job in corona pandemic. And some of them called “Hiring-Freeze”. So she was scared of that.
Small number of companies which didn’t stop their hiring process wanted to have ones who can start to work right now. And she could apply her experience and knowledge to get the jobs.

She thinks that it would be almost impossible to make an change on carrier or newly start as a junior. Based on several research paper, the person who start carrier in economic recession may have long lasting hard time through whole life. It’s a tragedy.

If you are having hard time and so much stress to get a job, it may not be your fault, just you don’t have a good luck this time.
