Follow your passion

Growing up, education was one of the phrases my parents are always singing to my ear, make sure you pass if not you are going to learn a trade. It was the bane of my existence, the fear of withdrawing from school and going to learn a trade which might be in an area where my old school mate might see me and make jest of me was enough for me to excel academically. Anytime my mum comes with that sound of you better read or else i am taking you to Mrs Ahmed's shop to learn tailoring, I sit up with my books and read more than I used to.

We did this cat and mouse thingy till I finished high school, until I became independent in university, everything concerning my educational decision was left to me to decide after my first year, so I chose to study hard and make a mark in my family and the world. Fast forward to years later, people now prefer been an entrepreneur even after going to school or learning a trade before going to university or after.

Now the world is divided into building your own craft by been a self made person whose wealth is based on one's passion. The world now revolves around making sure you have either education or craft to set you up financially for life. What I was scared of doing back then in school has become my passion in recent time. The fear of what people would think has limited a lot of us in doing what we like. Instead we focus on what is acceptable in the society and among family and friends.

However, life is a choice we make daily to be who and what we choose to become. Either being an entrepreneur or a 9-5 worker, you are still focusing and building your passion. Learn to enjoy what you are doing and it is never too late to find your passion.
