Steem Heart Break

This poem reflects my feelings about the Steem HardFork into two communities.

Sadness, only sadness.
Madness, only madness.
Is it better to have Steemed and lost,
or to have never Steemed at all?

It will be a struggle to rise and meet the dawn. A new age, a new future and new rules. Yet some are joyful, invigorated by this HardFork and they can’t wait to race towards this new horizon. They greet this HardFork like a beautiful rising sun.

But I do not feel their joy,
nor their happiness,
as I feel only sorrow.
and a deepening sense of loss.

I know that the night is darkest right before the dawn, but must those sad dark hours drag on for so long?

Sadness, only sadness.
Madness, only madness.
Gladness, where is my gladness?

I know it is better, to have Steemed and lost, then to never have Steemed at all.

But I only feel the sadness,
I only feel the madness,
When will I feel the gladness,
That others seem to feel?

The post by @blocktrades and the lack of a compromise solution would appear to doom us to splitting into two communities, separate and unequal. The ever approaching HardFork of Steem is heart breaking. After two years and writing over 9000 posts, casting 25,000 upvotes and countless hours of work. It soon will end in an exodus of many Steemians, developers and content producers. The great experiment will come to an end, while still in beta.

Very unequal. Hive is much greater than Steem if it holds up to what it promised. The same could be said of Steem.

True. I hope both do very well.

Looks like they will both do well. Many users will be using both chains for a while. I expect it would take a few years to completely separate these two chains.
