Album of the Day: Impact Fuse - Moscow
I'm almost 100% sure that most of you out there don't know these guys since they aren't famous or big or anything, but oh boy I wish they were. A friend showed it to me last year while we were being couch potatoes for a whole, showing each other some sick tunes all day long, and this THIS was a discovery. A musical slap in the face that followed me until today, and today I am sharing that slap in the face with you. Enjoy.

Impact Fuse is a jazz fusion trio formed in 2011 in Moscow, Russia. The band was formed by drummer and vocalist Damien Schmidtt, bassist Anton Davidyants, and guitarist Feodor Dosumov. The power trio's members are all world class session musicians from around the world that convene in Moscow. The band took about a year to write and record their debut album, Moscow, which was released late 2011.
They play a blend of hard-hitting fast paced, quite complex jazz fusion with a touch of hard rock/grunge influence on the writing. I can't really say anything more about the band, because I don't know them more, and I don't think the world does either. It's actually quite surprising to find this level of music writing and playing in the randomness of the unknown, since they are all absolute virtuosos at their own instrument. Give it a listen, and maybe like me, you won't believe that what you hear doesn't tour the world side by side with the big names of the Jazz Fusion world.
