Embankments of Sevastopol (visual walk 24 photo)

Having arrived in Sevastopol and accommodated in a rented apartment, the first thing we did was go to the embankment. From our house it was about 300-400 meters on foot. Today the type of architecture will be generously mixed with park design and maybe with landscape design.
And also we will admire the beautifully equipped embankment. Well, let's go.

DSC01545.jpg

The guardian of this place is undoubtedly Admiral Nakhimov. This is his square, from here begins one of the most beautiful streets that bears his name. We will definitely take a walk along this street. There is something to admire and even be surprised.

Behind the back of the admiral, across the square, we come to an unusual gate. This is how gorgeous the entrance to the pier is equipped. The waters of the Black Sea are visible through the white columns. All this creates a festive high spirits.
I think I already said that columns and stairs are loved in this city. We will admire them more than once. Sometimes in the most unexpected places.

Now I'm standing between the pillars and I caught my breath a little ...

This is the pier. The staircase descent is guarded by two lions. Well, how they guard ... they sleep, of course, like any guard. But they pretend to be vigilant. It's hot here, as if in a frying pan, and we decided to quickly walk further along the embankment in the hope of finding a shade or a breeze.

We went to the left of the gates with columns and entered the upper park. Yes, here we found the desired shadow. But the sun was high and shining hard enough. This is one of the worst conditions for photography. Harsh shadows, bright surfaces, variegated details. So I didn't take a lot of pictures. Although you can shoot a lot of interesting things there.
For example, what was this little miracle with columns (columns again, mind you). This is at one of the entrances to the park. Maybe this was once a box office and entrance tickets were sold here?

I noticed that there are a lot of conifers in this park. The largest of them are old cedars. It looks like they survived the last war. They must be at least 100 years old.
The paths are pleasantly paved and well maintained. The owner's hand is felt throughout the park.

We go down from the park to the continuation of the embankment. On the water, stands a monument to the scuttled ships. I will specifically clarify, not sunken, but submerged.
It was installed in memory of the sinking of Russian ships that blocked the allied squadron from accessing the Sevastopol raid during the 1st defense of Sevastopol (1854-1855).

This is a night shot. It seems to me that it fits better in the context of the monument.

The promenade is well equipped for relaxation and walking along the sea. Different zones are allocated here for different requests and desires. You can even swim in one place. But mostly nobody swims here. It is customary to walk here in light clothes. It is very nice.

From these long benches, similar to the equipment of an amphitheater, it is convenient to watch the maritime parade. Such a parade consists in the passage of warships and other equipment along the embankment by the sea, the production of various shows on the water and artillery salutes. I have not been here at this time, but I know that the spectacle is grandiose in its beauty.

Several beautiful buildings overlook or adjoin the embankment. Guess if they have columns? Definitely :))

I think I forgot to ask about the stairs ...
However, you can see everything for yourself. All this is solemn and beautiful, although sometimes it asks for repairs.

I hope I didn’t really tire you with my chatter ... Just one last word, please listen.
Just imagine that once this coast looked like this and appreciate the work of architects and builders who created this pearl on the Black Sea coast. Low bow to them.

I love the pictures. Looks like a nice warm day. I found myself wanting to sit under the shade and take a nap. The coastal view of the building looked so inviting. I wanted to stand on the spot and enjoy the view. While trying but to disturb the chickens. Looks wonderful. Thanks for sharing.

In this city it is very much connected with the history and maritime glory. Street names, monuments, public transport announces not only the name of the stop, but tells why it is so named, after whom.
Yes, you can relax there :)

Quite right :)
Sometimes we do not have time to evaluate what we have at the moment. And then, looking at pictures or simply remembering, we realize all the beauty of the moment.
...and thank you for your kind words! :)

Yes, you can have a very good rest there for every taste
There is the sun and there is shade, there is the infrastructure of the city and there are wild places.
And most importantly - there is a sea))
