BNC TOWER ARCHITECTURE AND DESIGN OF THE AREAS SHOWN AT THE CARACAS BLOCKCHAIN WEEK EVENT

DO WHAT YOU LIKE AND ENJOY IT

Welcome to this new publication for the Architecture+Design community, to understand the context of this publication you must first know that some time ago the first International Crypto Summit was held in the city of Caracas in Venezuela.

It was attended by many people with different interests (learning, studying, promoting) and among all the people who attended giving support to the Hive platform is me paying attention to the architecture that surrounded me.

For me it was important that at the time of attending to celebrate the effort and dedication of each of the exponents, to also enjoy the architectural beauty of the BNC Tower which tells a story by itself.

Although for this event the location of the BOD Cultural Center was taken as a reference point, many of us were a little uncertain as to why the building bore the initials of a bank such as the BNC and inside it had another name of a different banking institution.

Later, after inquiries, I understood that some time ago the present building belonged to the BOD Bank and as such they in their management created this symbolic space entitled BOD Cultural Center, although later for economic situations it ended up being acquired by the BNC Banking institution, which still respect part of the history of the building.

In this building, inside there are innumerable office spaces for the workers of the banking sector such as the BNC; in addition, executive, informative and administrative meetings are held there.

Upon entering, besides seeing the imposing height of the building, one of the most striking spaces is the center of the building, is the large steel structure composed of different columns and plates of golden color.

Besides being a focus of attraction for its colors and materials that contrast with the entire internal structure of the building, the main elevators operate in it, which were guarded by security personnel of the tower.

One of the places that caught my attention was this area that was right next to the main entrance.

It is presented as a natural green area, where human intervention is not appreciated to a great extent; for an event as big as the Caracas Blockchain Week was, having this space was a relief for me, since it was a little apart from the space where the exhibitors were.

In this space I could calm my nerves as anxiety, where I could also call my partner to tell him everything I saw.

As you can see, the building was large enough to accommodate all the companies and exponents of the Crypto World. I must add that both the internal and external spaces were in good condition.

Every space was properly illuminated and the natural light of that ground floor space added to the magnificence of the place.

Something that I consider to be special is how it was seen from the upper floors, the structure in the middle made of steel, since around it the different areas were presented.

At the same time, for the event, spaces were converted into learning places, placing different chairs in an improvised and organized manner as the setting up of a stage for the presentations.

Structurally, the space where the stage was placed was really the right one, since its distribution provided the benefits of being spacious, illuminated and easy for people to move around.

Being such a large tower there are different levels of height; from the first floor it was possible to go up by stairs to the second floor where the restrooms for men and women were located as a second restricted access to the office area of the BNC's banking sector.

A detail that I loved to see were the figures placed on the ceiling in such a way that they seemed to fly and levitate in space.

The bathroom layout was fine, there was enough space for the sink area and toilet cubicles.

The design as you can appreciate is somewhat neutral, they used the same dark granite design on the walls, floor and part of the sink inset.

Similar design that was already in certain areas of the first floor.

A surprise that the event gave us was to be able to enter the facilities of the private auditorium of the tower, where several events associated with the bank and allies are presented.

In such a way that being able to enter for me was something special like magic, since not everyone can enter; as for the architecture and design, I must say that it is a truly beautiful place, because the ceiling had a unique design similar to panels that protruded; the colors used on the walls and ceiling were similar so there was a visual harmony of colors.

At the same time, the layout was also ideal, since by placing the seats in the middle, all the public could see what was happening on the stage and on the sides of the seats were the stairs so that each participant of the event could observe what was happening on the stage.

To end this publication, I present the Plaza Isabel La Católica, which is just outside the tower and building of the BNC, in which I spent a different time observing my surroundings.
