The Ultimate: Tuscany, Italy

When I think of Architecture and Design, one word comes to my mind right away: Italy!

I believe most of you all here open-minded people will agree that a huge portion of the world design elite comes from this beautiful country in the old beloved Europe, calling itself Italia!

For those of your crypto heads, who don't agree at the moment, I will mention this phrase that became a cliché in the world of crypto betting and outside of it, as well:

"Win a Lambo!"

Yup, we all know what Lambo stands for and where is the place of birth of this brand that represents the absolute richness and luxurious style of life? You know the answer already!
By the way, quite an interesting fact is that the logo of Lamborghini is a... BULL :)
This originally has nothing to do with the "bulls and bears" term we imply now-a-days, it's just that Ferruccio Lamborghini, the founder of the company was born in Taurus and moreover, he had a thing about bullfighting! Everything happens for a reason. Another cliché, full of truth!

Anyway. Tuscany! A magical word when it comes to architecture, design, nature, travel experiences and generally what the human spirit could achieve when creative energy is the leading power. I am in love with this Italian province since the first time I've visited it. Not only because it is the birthplace of Leonardo. Vinci is a small town there but probably everywhere on our planet knows who he was! An Artist, Inventor, Architect, Lover, Explorer, the list could go on and on! That's not the main reason I fell in love with Tuscany. My unbreakable bond with it was created when I realized what Humanity could achieve if all our minds are aimed at adding more beauty into our world and be creative instead of fighting each other and simply follow our destructive impulses.

Most of the photos I am going to share with you in this post are taken in and around the city of Siena in the heart of Tuscany. I will try to show some different perspectives as well.

DDH_4248.jpg

Tuscany, the home of the Medici family, with its unique combination of history, nature, architecture has been a source of inspiration to many artists.

DDH_4159.jpg

Actually it is quite difficult to take a photo that isn't overwhelming with pieces of art.

DDH_4124.jpg

The details and perfection are just amazing.

DDH_4108.jpg

Even when I tried to follow the flight of that simple pigeon, as some unfairly call them "flying rats", look, still my frame is full of wonders on several layers:

DDH_4242.jpg

DDH_4244.jpg

With such heritage, the Italian design could aim only at being better and better. It is everywhere, check out the interior of this coffee shop. Light, shapes, colors, dimensions, it is all there, working its magic in perfect harmony!

DDH_4137.jpg

Even the small street details reveal minds here work "on the same frequency". Those street lamps, located everywhere in the old city center. Yup, it cannot be just an ordinary lamp!

DDH_4147.jpg

DDH_4154.jpg

DDH_4152.jpg

It is obvious that here the powerful families had be competing for centuries by demonstrating who could build an even more beautiful building, if that's even possible!

DDH_4236.jpg

Tuscanian church architecture... unique as well!

DDH_4281.jpg

Modern art blended in a great way along the old architectural elements. Nothing is just "a shop" here.

DDH_4417.jpg

Just a decoration above the entrance of a residential building:

DDH_4104.jpg

Proper scales, everywhere around:

DDH_4352.jpg

The interior of an small medieval restaurant:

DDH_3097.jpg

To a trained "architectural" eye the details could reveal its style and origin but for mine, well, I just sense and could tell without any doubt, this is in Tuscany!

DDH_3110.jpg

Check out who guards those ancient columns: :D :P

DDH_3175.jpg

There isn't such a thing like "an ordinary" house there, even in the countryside. It is obvious it took hundreds of years to the owners to plant and maintain those trees and take care of the surroundings. They hadn't spent their resources building ugly walls. They'd wanted their eyes to be treated in the perfect way possible.

DDH_3032.jpg

Gosh, isn't that so poetic? That single cypress tree planted in a special pot growing alone in the middle of this scenery curvy dreamy field...

DDH_4087.jpg

You could try to change my mind if you dare, but hey, this, in my humble opinion is one of the most artistical places on our planet! If not THE (di) most!

Thanks for passing by, stay safe!

Ah Italia! Hello @lightcaptured, Tuscany is simply heaven on earth. I remember the hotel room I stayed in Florence had a vaulted ceiling. Siena, San Gimignano, it's impossible to stop taking photographs. Design is everywhere in Italy, hence Salone del Mobile is held there every year. Welcome to Architecture+Design Community!

Hey, @discoveringarni! :) Thanks so much for the warm welcome! I've been to Firenze few times prior this particular travel, I love it's rich culture, people, architecture and as I am getting older it becomes too big and noisy for my taste, heheh. Our last place to rest for those ten days was a countryside house where in the mornings we were enjoying the magnificent Montalcino and Montepullciano, viewable from the garden and in the nights, the starry sky and their distant lights :) All magical :) I have few Italian friends and for some of them Design is their dope, hehe :)

Stay safe :)

I can just imagine when you said magical, how beautiful that must have been! 10 days there sounds like a dream, rolling hills, and vineyards. One day hehe.. Take care

Indeed. I was with a friend who is fluent in Italian and that was a plus, we were treated with an extra Italian love everywhere we went as well :) The landlord was an amazing lady who speaks only Italian so getting to that house and everything... priceless :) One of the nights there was a thunderstorm and with a bit of a risk I went outside and was able to capture this below. And from that garden table we were enjoying the coffee mornings with the views to those two lovely hill towns knows with their extraordinary Brunello :P

😍 This definitely makes one dream thunderstorm or not. Priceless indeed! To be immersed in the Italian language completes the entire experience!

I remember it was inside the tour bus for a day trip along the rolling hills and cypress trees where we all had a shot of homemade limoncello made by the driver himself after a sumptuous lunch in one of the vineyards. That was just one day so I can just imagine multiplying that by ten and actually staying there.

Gosh, homemade limoncello, I would love to try that. By the way, now that you mention it, every time I travel to Italy I buy and bring home a bottle of that divine liquid but I suppose it has nothing to do with that made at home.
Cheers :)))

Oh wow! If Tuscany was food, I'd immediately place the order for the main course because of the delicious appetizers you've shown as photographic teasers or previews of that remarkable paradise of architecture, arts, inventions, design, nature, engineering, and everything in between! In other words, I'd also consider calling that place the "Global Capital of Creativity" since so many historically creative beginnings were conceived there. Having said that, I'm truly excited to experience your upcoming feature of a single architectural masterpiece from Tuscany in its entirety!

With pleasure, a warm welcome @lightcaptured to the Architecture+Design Community!

Oh, such poetic words, I couldn't say it all better, I love the comparison :)
Picking a single masterpiece from that source of creativity... that's definitely a challenging task, as you know over there is a treasury of those :) I'll check out what had caught my photographic eye as this would be the best one, subconsciously :)
Thanks so much for this warm welcome!
