My entry to the shadow hunter contest #160

These are the shadows of my little eggplant plants. It so happens that a few weeks ago an eggplant that I was given as a gift had been in the fridge for a few weeks. By the time I could tell she had changed color towards one end and was a bit dark. When I cut the eggplant in half, I cut that piece off and used the rest in my cooking.

I usually use the shells and vegetable scraps as organic fertilizer for my plants. So I put the leftover shells from lunch and placed them on this bare space to compost my soil before planting paprika plants.

My surprise was that in a few days the seeds germinated. At the time I didn't think they were eggplant seeds because I never planted purple eggplant seeds but yellow eggplant seeds, already past their prime. I did not imagine that these purple eggplant seeds would germinate.

But they did germinate the plants and when they turned into 5 cm seedlings I realize they are eggplant plants. So I just resprouted them and let them grow as they wanted to grow.

Now I only had room left to transplant five paprika plants. I have done that and they are all growing very well. I have to repot every 15 days to keep them growing healthy and lush.
