My entry to the shadowhunter contest in the week #170.

Greetings to all the friends in the shadow hunting community. This shadow is of the sun coming through my porch railing in the morning. On the railing there’s a plant called “elephant ear”, as well as a crocus which is also entangled, when the sun comes through the railing it meets these pampered ones and gives these lovely images on my living room.

There are also my pets. Here I am accompanied by my spoiled Copito who is always on my path whenever I walk in the garden. While I take care of my plants, he takes the opportunity to groom his white fur.

Further into the shade of the wall is our little “Tronkin” (Tree Trunks in Spanish). She is the second pet but not less loved, here she’s eating her pumpkin leaves for breakfast. My pumpkin plant is bearing some major fruit this time around. The previous plant only gave me flowers that I used for salads and for my little turtle's food.

This time the squash plant is having a good production of pear squash and still has some growing to do. I put my hand on it so you can see how big it is with only 15 days since I saw its flower. This is a species known as “Cucurbita”, it is deep orange inside and its texture is soft and creamy when cooked. It’s especially used for cooking delicious soups, creams and ice creams.

The rains are about to start and the shadows will be more and more scarce but my plants will be more beautiful. Soon I will bring new pictures of the flowering plants with the seasonal rains from the Caribbean storms. I don't know why but the sky does not lie and it is announcing storms.
